Ramada is no longer their name, so don't look for a Ramada sign! The interior lobby seems fairly well updated, and their conference rooms are clean and comfortable. I can't speak to the rooms, as I was only there for a conference.

Clean, newer looking, good customer service. Starbucks and the pool were not open due to changes and construction. Awesome places to shop and eat around this location. Recommended!

Nice hotel but, has been going under renovation for the past 3 years and never seems to not be "under construction".

That doesn't mean I wouldn't stay here just means if you want to deal with a mess of a parking lot and minor chaos in the building because of it too then you'll be right at home lol.

I live in Grand Rapids and unlike some people who travel the state's or whatever for that matter, I have expectations about how it should be.

I know that doesn't mean it should be or is.

I just think it's rather sad for a company of that size whether it's because of the fact it's independently owned or not to still be "under construction" for so long is just a major inconvenience and should be a concern to the big wigs allowing the name (Ramada) being flown by Owners who take the Slow and Cheap way out of refacing the Company's Brand.

Otherwise it's still just a 3 to me because I still don't think the updates are doing the place justice by any means but who am I lol.

    Hope this helps someone.

We went to the Old Chicago restaurant connected to the hotel. We always receive excellent service from the staff and the food is great. I'll definitely be back soon.

Showed up to find out that THEY cancelled my reservation the day before because they had no hot water. I never got a call and they wouldn't even help to try to find another hotel for me. I would never stay here and I would tell everyone else to stay away.

UNDER CONSTRUCTION! BEWARE OF CHEAP PRICESit's not worth waking up to hammering and construction smells/clutter, etc) It had been a year since our last stay. They had been under construction last year. I called the hotel directly for a reservation, but they transferred me to the corporate reservation line (I intentionally called the hotel to avoid this). The woman dropped the price immediately by $20 when I balked at the initial price. Arriving, they informed me the room I had just reserved 30 minutes earlier was not available and they dropped another $10. Only then did they inform me that the hotel was under renovation AND the pool was closed (the whole reason we'd chosen this hotel!) By this time we had a screaming kid and no energy to begin the hunt anew. Their eagerness to fill a bed, even at a cheap rate, really messed up our plans (we'd planned to hang at the pool while my wife had an appointment). Really disappointed with the corporate system and eagerness to fill a bed over customer service!

I checked in with my daughters for a relaxing evening. We didn't realize the pool room was under construction and that we would be rudely awakened by the sound of drilling. In addition, we were all sneezing and itchy when we left which is unusual for us in a hotel that seems clean enough, except the windows that were filthy, not on the outside from construction, but on the inside. The phone in the room was not working as the cord was frayed both at the wall and at the base of the phone. Pretty run down place. We stayed here 5 years ago it was much nicer then. Hopefully, Marriott does a better job when it takes over!

Fantastic hotel! I travel a lot and I'm always looking to find the best hotels for the best prices. The Ramada Plaza was clean, comfortable, safe and affordable! I slept great and my room had a mini fridge, coffee maker, flat screen tv and a king sized bed. I felt right at home. At night I decided to go check out the pool and boy was I surprised to find a pool, a hot tub and a GIANT water slide. I'm an adult and I'm never looking for a water slide but I was sure happy to see this one! Bring your kids!
