Great ambiance, beautiful setting. The wines are ok, overpriced for the quality but worth it overall given the location. Location, location, location! Sitting outside over looking the vineyard and the mountains sure make this winery a great stop.

Tuscan style winery! It was perfect to say the least. Gorgeous mansion and beautiful grounds with so much detail. We tried all wine offering and headed to our next stop. We will definitely return again.

Our first wine tasting at an Italian styled vineyard. It's a ways off Route 421, but worth some aggravation. They are rebuilding the access road, but the estate is immaculate. We tried all their offerings and purchased two that we liked. We purchased another bottle for a friend dedicates to dog rescue; the owners have dedicated a bottle to this endeavor. It was a romantic setting to enjoy with the love of your life.

Very popular, very busy. I wasn't crazy about the wines. They don't provide a military discount. Shame on them for that. The only reason I gave them 3 stars is because it's so beautiful. The views are awesome.

So glad we chose to come here! Darby helped us with our wine tasting and she was very knowledgeable about the wines and made sure we were happy. It was very fair prices and beautiful scenery! We absolutely loved our experience here and would most definitely come back the next time we are in North Carolina. I would highly recommend this winery.

Beautiful vineyard, that resembles a building straight from France/Spain! We drove up from Charlotte for the afternoon during the fall. Went through the tasting and had an additional glass as well as a nice cheese plate. A great way to spend an afternoon.

Raffaldini seems to be among the best known and most esteemed of NC wineries; it has even gotten mentioned in a prominent Italian wine writer's recent book. Their Montepulciano Riserva is, indeed, a good wine. And it is a lovely place to visit, with a nice tasting room and a fine view. However, I would not make a separate trip here unless you live close; I would make it part of a winery tour as there are several in the area, and more not far away. I have done a tasting there and, aside from the Riserva, their wines are not very impressive. Their whites are not good at all; they make a Vermentino, for instance, which is somewhat interesting on the nose but which I found to be a zero on the palate. (For a better East Coast Vermentino, try the one from Barboursville Vineyards in Virginia.) Their Bella Misto is a typical East Coast boutique winery red: a lot of fruit and spice, lacking refinement, with a harsh edge, and doubtless having a very limited shelf life before the harshness takes over. Again the Riserva is a good wine, though I am not sure it is $32 good; you can get Montepulcianos from Italy that are as good or better, at better prices. Keep your expectations for the place at a simmer; enjoy the scenery, the atmosphere, and the Riserva.

Very hospitable hosts with Italian style wines in an Italian style venue. This quaint and lovely tuscan-like winery offers balcony views of the distant Blue Ridge Mountains, along with gracious hospitality. Never felt rushed or pushed along. Very nice wines and will return when possible.
