What happened to this restaurant? Definitely not what it used to be, unfortunately, the menu has changed. We ordered the calamari appetizer but were told they ran out. The salmon entree (for $25), was a very small portion of salmon and one side dishjezzz. The beef dip sandwich with fries was average at best, same goes for the beet salad. We had 2 mixed drinks and 1 beer, all good. I do have to say, that our male waiter was great (don't recall his name). This place used to be a favorite, but has gone way down our list for dinner for sure.
Good food and great beer. All around cozy place to munch and relax when it's cold outside. Full bar and descent menu. BBQ was expensive but tasty. Being from Texas, it's alright. I'm a bit snooty with BBQ and like simple salt and pepper based rubs. BBQ sauce was very sweet but good on the ribs, nice and sticky.
This place is awesome! Last summer I stopped in while they were hosting a fundraiser for a long time local who needed help with some medical expenses. I could not believe the outpouring of support. Pug's won my heart! Great beer, awesome food, cool people, and don't forget to tell your friends!
What happened to pug Ryan's it used to be a really good restaurant. It used to be a pretty high-end restaurant now it's like a typical bar with Bar good. My food was cold and not very good. I am a restaurant owner and I assume it was taken over by new ownership. I have eaten here for 18 years oh, I won't be back
Unfortunately I have to put a star to even submit a review!
This is by far the disappointing steak dinner I have ever had. We ordered an amazing and delicious appetizer which came out almost immediately after ordering. My kids had a chicken tender meal which was great as well and came out with the appetizer. this is where the annoyance came into play. My husband and I ordered steaks mine was the sirloin with a baked potato and my husbands was a Ribeye with mashed potatoes. (Super expensive). Non of our drinks were refilled ever. Had to practically yell for the server to give me more water. 45 minutes go bye and we still haven’t received our steaks are kids dinner was all done. We yelled for the server again and ordered another chicken meal. 50 minutes later our cold and almost completely raw steaks came out. My baked potato was completely solid due to sitting there then being reheated. My husbands steak was completely raw and practically gristle.
I would never recommend this place to anyone.
This is a great place to check out. Their beers are great. I had the sampler and settled with the Pilsner. I had the fish sandwich, which tasted good and had plenty of flavor. It does get a little crowded in there, especially during peak times. But overall it is a decent place to visit.
Good beer, good food, good service. We were very disappointed in another restaurant in Dillon and then found Pug Ryan's. This was our second visit during our time in the summit and plan to go back one more time for another 20th Anniversary IPA. Very nice family friendly place.
We really enjoyed Pug Ryan's. The service was outstanding, attentive and anticipatory. The food was good, but not excellent. Still, very pleased with our burgers, salads, fish & chips and mac & cheese entrees. The pretzel and sausage appetizer was excellent. Give that a try!
Great in all aspects. Spent four + hours here visiting with old friends. Atmosphere is laid back and homey. Service was top notch, beers were wonderful (I got the sampler of each to start). We enjoyed 4 different appetizers that were excellent, especially the pretzel/sausage combo and the spinach-artichoke dip. Prices were no different than anywhere else, but the quality of the food and beer made it a great value.
What happened to this place!? We come here regularly for date nights but not since the new owners. The menu is streamlined- which is good. Salads used to be served on chilled plates and they would split it for you if asked. They also use to serve a dark soda bread but no more. Our burgers were good but fries are so bland now. Their wine menu has also changed to lesser grade. Our server also ignored us most of the night. Good news though - the beer is still good. We'll give it another shot at the end of summer but might be time to find a new favorite.
Service was on top of it. Beer was excellent. I had the buffalo burger and my daughter had the Mac N cheese - both were quite good. I had a flight of beer and they were all really good.
Great food here. I love the shepherd's pie! Yum! The jalapeno sorry is good!
Pretty damn good. Better than the majority of places around the area. Definitely recommend!
The beer here is superb--it honestly trumps most craft beers. It's well-made and high quality. I got the Deadwood Dunkel which is one of the best beers I've ever had. Unfortunately, the service is sub-par. Although our server was extremely kind and fun to be around, he didn't know the difference between an Ale and a Lager when I was asking about some of their beers. This normally would not bother me, but when your paying $15 for a plate and $5 for a beer, the server better darn well know his beers.
"If you love beer you have to go here! Food was amazing too. I had the fish and chips, my brother had a burger. Our server Stori was tons of fun. Super fast and attentive service. Plus, her charismatic personality made it a great experience. We will definitely be back!"
