While the layout of the course is very nice and houses are gorgeous, the quality is miserable right now. A lot of places are overseeding this time of year, but this course was just about unplayable unless you pickup on every green. Don't get me wrong, it was probably gorgeous at one point in time, but they shouldn't be charging more than $20 for the quality the course is currently in. Here were some issues in our round.

    - Cart path only
    - Fairways were overseeded
    - Greens were overseeded and hadn't been cut in several days. Rolled about a 4 speed. The overseed wasn't going to save most of the greens as it looked like most of them had died from either disease or under-watering.
    - Tee box was mats only, practice green was closed
    - Only short game warmup was 2 small flags put into a random patch of rough next to the first tee box.

Worst part was we paid $42 per person not knowing the greens were in that shape. No mention of it on golfnow. When we told the guy in the pro shop, he gave us a deal and dropped the price to an "even $40". Then they charge $10 for a bucket of warmup balls. On top of that, no cart person on the course for any food or drinks.

Similar situation happened at Bella Collina over the summer when we paid $80 not knowing they overseeded. They completely understood and dropped the round down to $30 for every person who had a tee time for the week. They also overseeded in sections. Either just do greens or just do fairways. If you are doing the entire course overseeded, just close it like Orange County National does.

For now, as far as overall rating, I'd rate Providence a hair lower than Metrowest or Stoneybrook West.

Can't really comment that much. As I am not a lover of golf. Looked nice from the roadside.

Best value for money. The layout is fantastic and challenging. Yes, there is no valet parking and no fancy restaurant. But for the price you won't find a better course in the region. Btw. lots of water 😎

First time playing at Providence and we loved it !! Despite Irma's best efforts you would barely know a Hurricane had been through here in the last few days hats off to the greenkeeping crew !!
Very enjoyable round for our 4 ball of mixed handicap players 5 - 20, good mixture of holes, some water to make you think, bunkers not too much of a problem and greens which were in very good condition. Pace of play was great for a Friday mid morning and we thought great value for money well done Providence we shall be back soon !! Mainly due to the fact that Gary played 1 under haha !

    Course well kept greens great
    Huge problem is customer service.
I was a party of 3 today, a member of our group booked a tee time the night before, but i guess failed to purchase that tee time then and there, so we had to pay full price today when we showed up signing up for the courses discount card for Future use was their way of servicing us the other member of the threesome had been to the course three previous times and never heard about or was offered a discount card guess the course likes collecting as much money as possible and really isn't looking out for their patrons
Since golf there is not cheap why can't there be handi-wipes at the ball cleaning stations and we went out before 9:30 am why can't the water at the water stations be coldthey like collecting money but fail to do simple, stupid things for their customers. BAD

Head professional would benefit from some basic customer service skills. Practice area needs work or at least should allow people to use the short game area. The golf course is a local gem, is always in great condition, and is a lot of fun to play. My low review is based on the lack of customer focus and the lack of appreciation for the people who visit.

Everyone was rude. After the third hole the ranger (Ron Fowler) started harassing us to speed up play. We were right behind the group in front of us but we're told three times to speed up. We did speak to the head pro (Jerry Callaway) at the end of our round but he just smirked at us. Did not not seen to care one bit whether we liked his course or not. We play every year for one week at a time. We would NEVER play this course again.

I'm part of a group of 16 that comes to FL annually at the end of Feb/ beginning of March to golf Orlando-area courses for 1 week. Providence has been a regular in our rotation for 5 years now. The course is typically well maintained and, with the exception of a couple holes on the back 9, the design is fair. The only complaint, and the reason 2017 will be our last year visiting as a group, is the price for a 9 hole replay. $49 to replay 9 holes, which is easily double any of the courses we play (some of which are much nicer courses). And there is absolutely zero negotiating on the replay price (why gouge 16 guys at 4pm on a Sunday?). So, if you want to play 18 on a decent course, this is a good choice. If you're part of a group who typically replays 9, it's not a good value.

Just finished playing 18 holes with my wife in just 3 hours. The course is as good as any course we have played in Florida. The staff is magnificent and we had one of the best meals Friday night we have had in Florida. Great job Tim.
