Not only do they have great lunch deals, but they now have gluten-free arepas! These delicious little maize sandwiches are a perfect lunch meal or a snack, you can get them vegan or with meat and cheese. A great lunch staple if you're gluten-free in the area!
If you like Middle Eastern food, this is the place to eat. The hummus is made fresh every day as is everything else. I love their gyro in a pita.
The food is really good. One of the finest places to taste Mediterranean dishes in Chicago.
While this isn't my favorite Mediterranean joint in the area (I prefer Naf Naf), Presto is closer to my work and will absolutely do in a pinch. Just because it isn't my favorite doesn't mean it's not good as they really do prepare a filling and delicious meal for you.
The friendly 3 employees who I've seen work here are always happy to provide some high quality food! (Honestly I think there are more but I've only had my order taken by 3 in the past year.)
The felafel is some of the best in the area! Also the beef tenderloin, and homemade hummus are always winning picks and the prices do beat out Naf Naf if you are on a budget. You'll absolutely get more of a bang for your buck at Presto so that's something to keep in mind if your stomach is a rumbling for a larger meal.
It's located in the back of the Market near the seating area so might be tricky to see if you are new to the area but well worth it!
Presto is a hidden gem of the French Market. The two guys running it are super friendly and very accommodating to picky eaters.
I had the beef tenderloin, medium rare. It was cooked absolutely perfect, tasted wonderful, and left me pleasantly full such that the patisserie down the aisle wasn't even interesting on the walk out despite being a big attraction on the way in.
I was encouraged to try the homemade hummus, and I'm glad I did. It was really quite good.
Best of all, the prices are quite reasonable. I will definitely come back for lunch or dinner.
