Very nice and tons of shade and picnic tables. Quiet and quaint. Good place to play in the water with soft beachy areas

This is one of the most underrated places in the valley, a very unassuming beach with an impressive trail that takes you around the edge of the lake. Many hikers in this trail but during the weekdays it's nearly empty. a true gem in the valley

In the summer this is a very popular and consequently more crowded spot to hang out by Saguaro lake, especially in the summer. Its a favorite of mine more so in the winter months to relax on the beach and even swim on a warm day!

I love taking my family kayaking here! If you're lucky, the wild horses will come to drink from the lake. The only downside is the gross bathrooms, but what do you expect

Nice beach, water is nice. Beautiful views, Butcher Jones Trail starts at the beach and is spectacular. Never too crowded. Wild horses visit the beach nearly everyday.

I love this place you can camp, swim, watch wild life fish. If you like being outdoors this place has all you need.

It's absolutely beautiful here. I wish people would be more mindful about their litter. I wish you could purchase a recreation pass there vs. requiring to purchase one in advance. This was my second visit. I couldn't stay the first time because there's no place within miles to get one and you can't print one online.

Always a beautiful place to paddleboard, kayak, hike, see wild horses! If we all brought a garbage bag and filled it while we visit we would make a huge difference! I'm not saying it's dirty but some people do leave trash.

Great spot to escape the heat and enjoy some solitude or friend and family time with loved ones. Play or just relax in the water for your activities, and enjoy the shore area for lunch, chilling, and tanning. Bet the evenings and sunsets are just as great here too!

During good weather this place is packed. I recommend arriving early the parking lot will fill up. I have been turned arround. I will kayak from the beach out, or stay on the beach for the day with the kids. The water quality at butcher jones beach will some times have park warnings. This based on the lack of water flowing in the large cove that makes the beach.

A great place for a hike and a swim. Great combination of the Arizona mountain and lakes. Many great areas for scenic photos. Make sure to buy parking pass the the gas station before heading here though.

Hike as much or as little as you want of this trail. Each turn brings new and more beautiful views. The further you go the better the views at the lake. Four Peeks can be seen from several spots along the way. Often there are wild horses in the parking area (don't forget to get a Tonto pass - a must have to parkget online before you go or at the gas station on your way in across from Fort McDowell Casino.) One of my favorite places to take visitors from out of town! Trail is rocky so hiking boots are helpful. Some elevation and narrow areas at the start of the trail. No water available so make sure to bring your own, even in the winter! Restrooms in parking area seemed to be cleaned often (but still aren't great). Nice beach area by parking lot - in this summer it can get quite crowded with lots of kids playing in the water. Great option to go for a swim after your hike during warmer weather.
