I definitely recommend visiting Prairie Creek Park To anyone feeling stressed. This amazing roaring waterfall,(best just after the rain)and serene woodsy atmosphere is great for mediation and self reflection.

It is nice for what it is but 37 acres (to me) is a bit more than a 50 yd wide strip of creek and trees. However it is in the middle of town which makes it relatively awesome. Great photo ops friendly environment. Beats sitting on the couch for sure. Bring a cold water its hot outside.

Huck Finn Trail was perfect for littles! My boys (3 and 5) enjoyed the signs naming the types of trees and seeing the waterfall from the top. The walk felt foresty yet safe. The bridge offered a safe place for the kids to turtle-watch and stunning views for me. A gem!

A great place with a soothing scenic beauty
I love the walking trailsbut the major attraction for my kiddos is the water fallthey spent hours playing there

Would love to visit again

PS: Please don't visit this place with great expectationsthis is just a small creek and hence, the water falls too are small, and the water was shallow ( since we visited it during summer)

This park is gorgeous! At some point along the trail there's a beautiful water fall! The woods are cool. However if you are planning on taking pictures at the waterfall don't have your hopes up. There were about 15 photo shoots happening there. It was crazy. Regardless though, it was a fantastic experience.

Amazing park to take photos at. The part with the man made falls stands out as a very natural background. My family has come here with two different photographers who both independently determined that it would be a great place to take pictures at. Having seen the photos afterwards I would have to agree that it's one of Richardson's better kept secret photo locations.

A really great place to take portrait shots. It's got a beautiful but cute little waterfall and creek. Great for senior pics.

Very nice walking trails. If you want shots of the waterfall, go a day after a hard rain. You can get great pictures of the herd of turtles on any sunny day. We saw about 14 under one bridge. Be sure to bring bug spray for mosquitoes. And don't go off the path unless you like wandering through spiderwebs.

This park is a favorite of mine with its towering trees, winding lanes, and gorgeous rock formations and falls. It also happens to be a favorite of every single photographer in DFW. I was there at 7 pm on a Tuesday and there were three other families getting their portraits done at the same time in the same spot. It was a bit awkward but we made it work. In other words, be warned if you're planning on shooting a session on an evening or weekend. For folks who just want to enjoy the park, steer clear of photo peak hours (sunsets and weekends).

So beautiful! Tip: wait till the day after a shower to take pictures so that the waterfall will not be dried up. Pretty nature tails too- make sure to go down to the bridge to walk on them.

Prairie Creek Park in Richardson offers not only a gorgeous waterfall, but several walking trails that span several blocks. It's very picturesque and surrounded by city-owned areas, very much worth it!
