I was really disappointed as I've always enjoyed Porta in the past. The waitress seemed completely uninterested in doing her job. We were there for Sunday brunch. Got the eggs in purgatory which is supposed to come with poached eggs. The eggs were hard and not just like they had been poached too long. They were covered in a brown crust almost like they had been fried. Had to peal the crust off before even attempting to eat the eggs and they were still like rubber. I thought maybe they had thrown it in the broiler but the cheese on top wasn't melted. The appetizers were good. Overall though just a let down.

Excellent brick oven pizza! Delicious margherita pizza. Tried octopus salad. Served warm with potato, fennel, capers and parsley Best I ever had. Great cheese plate. Try the homemade ricotta!

The place itself needs loads of work. The place is dirty and the building itself looks like it's going to fall down any second. I'm pretty sure it's violating many safety codes but that's not my problem. The bar is pretty bug but the whole place gets mobbed around 6:00 with the drunks. I wouldn't recommend taking your family here. They had a pretty good band the night I went so +1 for that.

The atmosphere was nice and the staff was very friendly. Lots of people were dressed nicely but we were dressed in shorts and tanks from the beach and we didn't feel uncomfortable. It looks like it was an old warehouse with some creativity thrown in. I would perhaps call it modern rustic. Very clean.
We had a bit of a wait but it was definitely worth it. The pizza ingredients tasted incredibly fresh and it was delicious! It was not regular pizza house pizza that's for sure! The dough was crisp but almost chewy and not like a regular pizza dough. Almost similar to a flat bread? A bit pricey for pizza, but reasonable considering the size. Some of the cheese is made in house and it added an extra depth to an already delicious meal.
We were waited on very quickly and the food came really fast. However it took the waitress a while to come back. We asked for garlic for the pizza but by the time she came back we were done eating. However it was very busy. The water was served in a wine bottle and was room temperature. Also the music was louder than I would have liked.
Overall it was enjoyable. Not really a "family" environment or for a date night when you're tying to get to know somebody.response / report this review -

When this place first opened it got 5 stars, the crowd dropped it down to 1. I stopped coming here a long time ago due to the long lines of typical Jersey Shore crowds. I suppose I might give it a try in the off season on a weekday if a friend really felt the need to have overrated and WAY overpriced pizza and drinks, but that's it.

I've been to Porta a couple of times and I've enjoyed the food. The service has been a little slow and I'm not the biggest fan of communal tables. But other than that, it's a great experience. I still have not tried the famous Nutella pizza that everyone talks about. My favorite is the arugula truffle pizza.

Great food and location! Really good for kids, though likely long wait time for dinner. I liked that you can leave your number and they text you furthermore, you can track your spot in line via a website. The one thing to note is no additions to the menu items though you can remove items, so vegetarians rejoice!

Well after waiting 75 mins (some of it on the rain!), we got sat down & they experience quickly got a whole lot better! Our waiter was very kind & helpful & we got out food quickly. The food was great & the place had a really cool vibe. Only reason why I'm not giving 5 stars is because of the wait & it's a bit pricey. Overall would recommend though.

The food was uniquely tasty in that it was off the charts fresh. The Three trees salad tasted like it came straight away from the garden. The sauce and dough was also fresh and far exceeded our expectations. One should not live and die on this earth and not have a "Porta" experience! WOW! Thank You Porta! Lunch with my friends was great and they all said thank you to me for suggesting Porta for lunch

LIVE AND VIVID!! Entrance fee is convenient and affordable. Drinks are on the pricy side. But, it's more of a club at night and pizzeria during the day.

Great spot. Loved the ricotta appetizer and arugula pizza! Would recommend to anyone visiting Asbury Park or Jersey City. Nightlife was good too.

Great pizza and salad , unless your into a night club get out by 10:00p.m. . After that time it transforms into a dance hall, which is hard to believe at times when quietly dining hours before in a beautiful atmosphere . Wait staff is awesome .

Awesome brunch. $5 carafes of mimosas. Really good pizza using local seasonal ingredients. Fun night life as well - just watch your drinks.
