We were here for a christmas event. The ambience was very nice. Food quality and quantity are good. Service was excellent. Though we are almost 25 people the service was really awesome. Not much of the waiting for food or beverage. Didnt like the restroom as its a very old restroom. It will be very much appreciated if the restroom is renovated.

We try and go during the holiday season. It's always nicely decorated and the food is always wonderful. The kielbasa soup is always great. Don't forget to bring cash or check for payment!

This is like a step back in timeand a visit to Europe all built into one. The food is absolutely delicious!! I would highly recommend the 'Hungarian pancake'full dish potato pancake, with basically traditional beef stew on top. Oh brotherwas that good on a rainy, snowy winter night.

I’m very disappointed in this place. As soon as we walked in, the host was sassy. After about a good 15 if waiting by the door, she asked for us to sit at the bar top. There were three adults and a child. We sat at the bar top for another good 15 minutes and the bartender never offered us anything. Not even water. We finally got sat, ordered out food and it did come out quickly so I can give that positivity to them. Not all of us ate so we were finished roughly 20 mins after it was set down. And this where where I became super disappointed

We finished eating at 7:55pm, we did not get boxes or the check until 8:35. In that 40 minute time frame, we were patient as the waitress may have taken a little break. When we finally saw here, we nicely requested the boxes and check. She never gave them to us. She cleaned another table, greeted 2 tables, got them drinks, and started to take their order. I asked another waitress next to her nicely for the boxes in the meantime. What did our waitress do? Stopped take a tables order to go get boxes. So not only were we frustrated, so was this other table now.

As we were waiting patiently, we were observing what was going on around us. We don’t normally come down to this conclusion but this is how it looked to us.. every one in there was white. Our table consisted of 2 white women, one of them dressed more masculine, a mixed (black and white) woman and then a sweet child.

We watched every one that approached the bar, leave with drinks. When we sat at the bar, we weren’t even offered drinks/water. Their servers were being servers and not “forgetting” about them.

The vibe in there was very off and I would never recommend anyone go there.

Wow! Polish food is comfort food, and they serve it! Walk into old-world wood panels, stained glass, red gingham clothed tables. If you're looking for a perfect evening, dine at Polish Village Cafe and then walk to Keyworth Stadium for a raucous Detroit City FC soccer game!!

Absolutely charming atmosphere. Hanging lights, very old bar, decorated with Polish items. Amazing polish food. Great perogies, pork chop, and schnitzel. Large portions. All very affordable. Worth the drive into Hamtramck. Note: Cash or check only and you must walk down a flight of stairs to access.

Been going to this restaurant for over 40 years ! Great pickle soup ! Dip your potato bread in the soup while you wait for your Polish plate to arrive. Wash your food down with a cold, Polish draft beer direct from the bar. Save room for dessert: cheese & prune blitzes. Yum !

Food was great, prices reasonable. Cool old atmosphere. Only reason not 5 stars is they dont accept cards yet there was no sign anywhere stating cash only.

Old fashioned Polish atmosphere takes you back to the 40's. Very nostalgic. It's off the beaten path.
Delightful food. Like Grandma used to cook in the basement.
    I love it!

Well worth the wait. My fiance' had the polish platter and I had the chicken livers. Food is top notch. Service is top notch. Our server was very understanding when I had to go across the street to get cash (first time there, did not know it was cash only). A wonderful experience overall . Will definitely come back.

This place is great. The wait staff are extremely polite and friendly. Food is delicious. I'll definitely go back sometime. They don't advertise well, but they're only cash or check; no credit card. They don't have an ATM on site. The perogies to-go / "cook at home" are great too.
