I called this morning and explained how I have never shot handguns before and was looking to try a 9mm and/or a .45. I was told by the gentleman on the phone that 30 minutes would more than likely be enough time. I asked if someone on the range would possibly be available to assist and he told me yes the guy would more than likely be able to give me some general direction. I was informed they let the last person in the range at 8:15 - 8:20 and to make sure I showed up before then.
I showed up at 8:05 and was told by a a guy that I had to be accompianied by someone else who has shot there. I drove 30 minutes to come here. and was turned away within 5 feet of the door. I see on the website now after driving home I needed to be with someone else but why would that not be expressed over the phone to save myself the trouble.
I really like this place. The staff was great. I had an issue with the target return on my shooting lane, and the range attendant quickly moved me to another lane and said he would add some time to my session. Everyone else was quick and helpful. Highly recommend it.
Prices were high, staff was rude to the point of being insulting, and completely unavailable. I will never step foot in there again.
A little pricey but I like the heap filters they have for the range. Worth the extra cash. If you need to rent guns they have you covered. Make sure to bring your drivers license. I recommend you get in ear and over the ear protection and wear both on the range. The reason being some folks bring some big guns and it gets loud for and indooor range. The shop is well stocked if your shopping for something new. They provide gift cards if you want to get someone a gift. The thing that is great about this range is they do have longer lanes for rifles.
Do not buy a gun here!! Bought an ar-15 on flash sale, and a used gun as well while I was there. 4 days later, the first time shooting the Brand New gun, it malfunctions over and over. When I bring back to point blank the salesman I had says it's like a car, you buy it you own it. Very unprofessional!! I will never be back!!
Guy I the next range shooting elephant gun. The impact on my chest was crazy. When I told the clerk at the counter he offer to move me down one lane. really? No offer of rain check or money back. Guess I need to only go on ladies nite😩
Great place to go if you just want to shoot or are looking to buy a gun. The range is well kept and there's always a safety officer walking around. Wait times are also pretty minimal unless you go in the afternoon on a weekend. Then it can be a while. The only real downside is that the range is 25 yards, which isn't that far. Sometimes, there's also a severe lack of table space to put your bags on the range as well. This issue is usually exacerbated with people bringing like 10 rifles and 30 crates of ammo and just taking all of the tables, leaving you to load mags in the range bay or on the floor. The prices for their firearms seem to be about average, not the best or the worst. But I usually use certain online firearms auction sites so my idea of an "average" price is a little skewed. One last thing, this is more of an address to the people complaining about the sales. You can't seriously expect to stroll in at 4pm and expecting to get those items that were on sale at 8am when the store opened, that's not how things work. Those things are gone in an hour or less.
Sleazy (borderline) bait and switch tactics. They sent out an ad for an AR for a great price. It was gone by the time I got there. That's right, I said IT. They told me they only had 1 to begin with, and it was gone in the first 3 hours of the sale. The ad said nothing about having only 1 available.
The staff, is extremely inconsistent in their message to their customers. For example, before I bought a rather larger lot of ammo (from a different business) I asked the person at the range counter if I would be able to shoot that specific ammo in the range. The employee said yes; so the next day I bought the ammo. Not too long after, I was shooting the ammo, and the range officer told me I could not shoot it there. There are other ranges in town that do allow the ammo, and I will happily take my business to those other ranges instead.
Not a bad store, good selection. Only reason I rated a 4 store is I was a bit unlucky and got a brand new salesperson who kind of made me feel like a criminal for buying my father in law a gun for a gift. He simply didn't understand the law. Management did step in and assist though and all was well. I've not visited the range yet only the store.

My reason for visiting was a recent 2-day sale that they were having. I knew the item was going to be short in supply and high in demand so I decided to get to the store several hours before opening, in anticipation that a crowd would be gathered much earlier then when the doors open. When I arrived, which was right at two hours before opening, one other person was already waiting in the parking lot. After waiting in the car for about 15 minutes or so, a gentleman came out and handed out tickets for the limited supply firearm that was on sale. He explained how many they had and that the ticket was good for one firearm, until noon that day. ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL IDEA. He said that there is no reason to sit here but rather "you can go get coffee now", being that they would not be selling to anyone that didn't have a marked ticket. I did go and do just that but, fast forward to the store opening. As I walked in, I handed my ticket to another associate that was greeting and guiding guests, who promptly got another associate that was behind the counter to help me. I was helped by, Dan. Dan was a delight to work with. He was always smiling, even when he was somehow the designated phone operator for the morning (which interrupted my shopping experience, but that won't be held against him at all). He made sure to answer any and all questions that I had, and offered help for attachments that I inquired about. I ended up purchasing multiple firearms and spent about an hour and a half or more in there, and Dan was calm, polite and helpful the entire time. Upon finishing up, Austin helped get me checked out and threw in a couple items from the store and range passes. Dan once again apologized about all of the interruptions (besides the phone, multiple other associates were asking him questions the entire time), but due to his demeanor and how everything was handled, it didn't feel that it was warranted. Even with the interruptions, but with the delightful staff experience and the great idea of the tickets, I couldn't find any reason to drop a star.
The staff are always friendly and really take the time to answer questions. The different weekend sales are a plus and gun range is clean and roomy. I would highly recommend Austin if you are looking for an instructor!
