Often in a touristy spot the food is overpriced, not very tasty and poor service. None of these apply here, where our food was delicious and could not have been more fresh. The staff was friendly and attentive, along with having a great atmosphere.
Be warned though some of their seafood is available in limited quantities because it's only what caught that day is served. Don't miss this great spot!response / report this review -

Overpriced? Of courseIt's on the boardwalk. Worth it? Definitely. This is the place I always bring my friends to when they are visiting me in Saint Pete. The atmosphere is incredible, staff is very friendly and attentive, food is wonderful and they make a fabulous long island iced tea. My friends usually opt for their signature drinks and always love them. You can hang out inside or right on the boardwalk. Just a wonderful place.

We ate here 2 nights during our weeks stay and thought it was the best food and good service for a fair price on John's Pass Boardwalk. Their blackened Grouper was as good as any I have ever had. The grilled shrimp is good too and we liked the sides they had instead of just fries like most places.

I got the lobster roll. It was excellent! I chose instead of two sides to get the side salad. It was a very good salad, not just lettuce. My sister got the crab cake. It had some spice to it, but was really good. She enjoyed the fries and gave me her tomato and cucumber salad. It was very good too with just the right amount of dressing/sauce. Going back for lunch today!

My Sister and I had lunch and drinks here on our vacation Wednesday. Excellent Food!!!! Waitress was Awesome!!! Definitely go back when we come visit!!.

I was there this weekend with my family..Kim was our server and she was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. The burgers and lobster rolls were fantastic! Also they has fresh snapper that my wife had blackened and even my kids loved it! Definitely coming back!

I have been to Johns pass many times. pirates pub and grub is by far the best food on the beach!!!! Morgan is the best bar maid ever!!! Myself and all our friends will be back time and time again!!!

The rest of the meal was better than average pub food. But the fries were the best we've ever had. The pirate ambiance was fun. They have all kinds of things dressed up as pirates hanging around the place. Took stars off due to being understaffed and wait time for anything was way too long. Staff was more interested in tending to the bar than the tables. We will try them again and if service is improved I will update.
