Nice quiet place on one of the best spots on the lake. Managers Gary and Carol are two of the nicest people I've ever met and try to accommodate your needs.

I stayed here last year with my two older sons for a week of fishing, the first fishing and/or vacation my boys and I had taken together since they were in grade school some seventeen years ago. We had a great time, caught a bunch of fish, and so I was excited to bring my youngest son this year who is disabled along with my fiancé. Then one night a week and a half ago while on a walk thru our neighborhood she and her twelve pound shih tzu got attacked by a fifty pound plus boxer with her dog catching the worst of the assault. Our small dog had to spend a night in the animal hospital to have surgery in order to save her eye and to mend her other wounds. The attack was so abrupt and vicious that my fiancé and her puppy had to take a day of convalescing on our couch to start dealing with the emotional damage inflicted to them, trauma so severe that this little bundle of fur shakes at the sight of other four lagged animals, had to go to work with my fiancé all week, and would not leave the house without me or my fiancé standing right next to her.

When I called to explain my situation to the manager, that we couldn't leave our dog with anyone while she recovers from this, and wouldn't think of letting her stay somewhere she might be around other dogs at this time, there "wasn't anything they could do" and because this happened ten days before we were to take our vacation I would lose the $420.00 deposit as well being told that "they were losing money too" because we couldn't stay as planned. I get there are rules, I also get there are reasons for them, but what I don't get is how a person & business in the hospitality industry could be so inhospitable and lack the compassion to flex a little from their regulations under such extraordinary circumstances.

Those of you who have an autistic child like I do, who was looking forward to spending a week on the lake, and know the difficulty that comes with any change will understand the additional challenge I have waiting for me tonight at home explaining to him something I don't understand myself. My hope was that these people would show a little compassion, I would be a customer for life, and sing their praises, but now I can only shake my head in disgust at how they put short sighted lust for a dollar above their own mission of providing facilities for a little time away from the stresses of this life.

We have loved Piping Rock for 15 years. The Property ManagersGary and Carolare amazing. They both work so hard and continue to improve the property. It's a wonderful place to stay and great for families because of the sand beach

I literally lived here for two months when I needed a local place to stay due to a new job. The staff went out of their way to accommodate me, and they seemed very happy to have the business because it was the off-season. I enjoyed my experience here.

Loved the lake, clear and deep. Not a fan of the hill to get there.

I recently PREPAID several thousand dollars to reserve four rooms for a long weekend in connection with a family reunion. When one of my guests checked out early I planned to have nother use the room on that night, which I had previously discussed in writing with the manager. When they arrived at 10:30, the room had been resold! I went back the next day and the manager refused to even give me a refund for the resold room. What kind of place collects double revenue on a prepaid room and then stiffs someone for a few hundred dollars?

The resort motel itself is nice, if somewhat dated. No complaints there. All my guests were happy. But hold on to your wallet!
