They are a good pet store I just wish the would take a little more care of there hamsters
The service here is alright but I had dropped 4 stars because of how they are "advertising" there animals. In December I had adopted what I thought was a MALE guinea pig that turned out to be a FEMALE guinea pig. Since I have another 100% MALE guinea pig they mated. Now I MUST find a new home for the babies along with a home for there mother. I also have to find a new friend for my male guinea pig. This is a problem I should have NEVER needed to deal with.
I wish I could Rate this location lower. One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. Went to purchase a puppy( listed at 1300$). FManager quoted me a price at 1049$. Quickly retracted her offer and said she could only take 100t this $ off? I asked her to call the owner, when she came back she insisted if I wanted to pay that price, come back in a few weeks. I would recommend everyone try and adopt rather than support this for profit joke of an organization jg
We were VERY reluctant purchasing our Morkie from here last year based on the reviews. She had kennel cough which can be picked up anywhere, wherever there is a large quantity of dogs and a heart murmur, or so we thought which later turned out not to be a heart murmur thankfully. Petland covered the vet bill including X-Rays, no questions asked, nor excuses. I have owned several dogs over my lifetime and she is a wonderful, happy, sweet little dog. Very cute as well with the cutest personality. Her health is excellent. The cost for her and the other dogs is a bit high, but that is our only gripe.
My family and I walked into this place for some fish stuff. As soon as we walked in there was a horrible stench of uncleaned puppy, hamster and guinea pig crates. This was obviously a business that was into the whole puppy mill idea, the crates were so over crowded and I had never seen so many sad animals in my life. As we moved our way back to the fish section it also stunk of uncleaned tanks. Another adding factor is no one asked if needed help. My family and I will never come back to this place. I feel so bad for the animals there and I am shocked that they are still open.
I love seeing puppies and there's a Petland close to my home, so I had been going there for a while to see puppies. One day, there was a little scruffy Labradoodle that I fell in love with, and so I asked to play with her and she felt just right for me. I went in the store for seven days in a row because I was establishing a bond with this dog and asking about her background, policies and warranties and trying to accommodate for her. My husband had been doing research on Petland and was trying to make me see why we shouldn't give them our custom and support their business policies, but I was truly fond of this doggie and I wouldn't have cared if she came from heaven or hell. So on Friday Sept 8th I went in to make my purchase with a friend; the lady who had been helping me all week saw me but it was a busy moment so she didn't say anything, which is ok (I think to their eyes I was starting to become a pain, which I understand too), so I went to look at the cutie one more time through the glass. As I was looking, I heard a lady approaching behind me and saying "I'll take that one" as she pointed at the doggie. I thought it was a joke. The lady on duty said, "Sure, I'll go and grab her papers and her for you". I really thought it was a joke. If that shop assistant had had some humanity within her, she could have said to the customer "hang on, I need to double check something", and have pulled me to the side and asked me if I had made up my mind. The doggie and I had bonded, even my husband who had only seen and played with her twice had started to care for her. I understand it is a business, but the lack of humanity with a person who shows caring towards a potential future pet is so disappointing. I was so sad to see her go in front of my eyes to an owner that hadn't even asked to play with her first. This shop assistant proved to me that as a business they don't care who their pets' new owners will be (they actually sell their puppies to anyone who is willing to pay) and also as individuals. And I do understand that when it comes to a purchase it is kind of a "first come, first serve" deal, but I was standing there, ready to buy that same dog I had been enquiring about all week, playing with her, calling different vets and getting my family ready for her, and she didn't even care to pull me to the side to ask if I was there to buy it before letting the other customer take her, or just to say to me personally "sorry, she's been purchased. I'm so sorry, but it is store policy". I will never forget this sad and disappointing experience. I hope that puppy's new mom is deserving of her love and friendliness.
My boyfriend decided it would be a good idea to purchase a puppy from a pet store. He paid $1000 for a sick dog. They said she bad kennel cough but it turns out it's pneumonia and a partially collapsed lung, as well as an eye infection. There's no way I'm taking her to their vet since her records indicate she was on round 3 of antibiotics. Clearly, it didn't occur to them that something else was w wrong. Aside from not being n reimbursed my vet costs, my main concern is the other 5 puppies my bf said were in quarantine with her. They're probably extremely sick as well. ADOPT DON'T SHOP!!!!!!
DO NOT buy from here. They purchase their dogs from abusive puppy mills. Most puppies are sick or have been mentally abused. A friend bought a Shetland sheepdog puppy that was incredibly sick and died a few months after adoption. It has recently been proven that Petland buys from puppy mills. Even though the dogs seem cute, buying from here will only allow the mills to stay in business. If you don't know how horrible and disturbing a puppy mill is, do a quick google search...
I never dreamed I would buy a puppy from a pet store, (I am an "adopt not shop" person) but we had been looking for a doodle for some time and fell in love with a chocolate labradoodle here. She was perfect, so we decided to pay up to get the right dog for our family. And Petland has really impressed me.
The staff has been amazing and very caring. She had a cold (kennel cough is very common, not just in pet stores, people) so they asked to keep her until the vet could see her again-putting her health first. We have come to visit her every day, and they have been so nice and supportive. They answer all questions and make sure you have everything you need.
I can't believe some of the bad reviews I've seen about people taking a puppy home to a child who is allergic, and being mad when the store won't take the puppy back. Are you kidding? How about don't get a puppy in a spur of the moment decision without your child meeting the dog and without knowing if your family has allergies?? The reviews saying the puppies have bad behavior and are biting... IT IS A PUPPY and puppy biting is very common. I can't believe these people who are blaming the store for something that ALL PUPPIES do. Training a pup out of biting takes weeks to months.
I also think their vet policy is very reasonable, if the dog has any problems initially they will pay for it. The staff truly loves and cares for these dogs, and our pup absolutely adores everyone who works here. Thank you Petland for taking care of our new baby until we can welcome her into our home.
Purchased a puppy on April 22 2017....puppy had green discharge coming from her nose and eyes. The employees that were working that day played it off as because it was a Boston terrier that was common. Not sure where these employees get their information and training from but the puppy was diagnosed 3 days after purchase with pneumonia. The puppy was hospitalized for 6 days. Since then she has been in the hospital again for another 4 days. Petland did pay for charges but bottom line is they are selling sick puppies and I would recommend never buying a puppy from here to anyone. I also spoke with Alexandra and she was very rude, sarcastic and unprofessional. She told me, I don't understand why you are so upset, your puppy has a cold! Really? We are still dealing with a sick puppy! This is ridiculous! Shut this place down people! I have contacted local news channels, the Better business Bureau, the breeder and the animal welfare department of the USDA. I will not stop until they are held responsible for selling sick puppies and the business is shut down!
Went to look at some puppies. They all looked tired and bored. I chose two to play with. Both puppies were very unsocial - they sat in the corners of the playroom, refused to play with their toys, and were biting EVERYTHING including my coat, purse, shoelaces, pants and even my arms, which had red marks for well over a few hours. I understand that puppies are teething and need to bite things, but the behavior was unacceptable. Even when I tried to distract the puppy with a chew toy, it kept biting my arm and I had to pry it off. It was a small breed, but nonetheless, it needs to be trained or get its bad behaviors corrected. The service was good, but the condition of the puppies was rather upsetting.
