I have been going here for years with only good experiences. In the last year I have had two cataract surgeries, and it could not have gone more smoothly. Thanks, Dr. CID! I have also had in office repair of a torn retina with laser treatment that was great. Thanks, Dr. Stewart! Only good things to say about Parkwood.
Excellent eye doctors. I have always had great experiences with these ophthalmologists. We are fortunate to have them in the community.
My mother had laser surgery to remove some scar tissue. Each visit took 4 hours as apparently the eye drops took 1.5 to 2 hours to dilate her eye. We were never told it would take so long, my 80 year old mother had to sit in a chair waiting, causing her leg to swell and night cramps. The doctor was fine, but if things take that long perhaps the ye drops can be started at home. They also collected a copay for each surgical visit and there is not one for office surgery per her insurance company. the doctors have no idea how the staff works - which I find rude and incompetent. Worse of all they were rude to my mother, who preferred an afternoon appointment. At the second appointment we were shooed out of the office because it was lunch time. I suggest packing a lunch, snacks and some drinks if you have to have the laser surgery in the office. Get up and walk, perhaps leave after the eye drops, run errands and return. Better yet, go outpatient to Hugh Chatham. You will have to pay a facility fee, but it is worth it to be treated like a person. Sad the office has gone so far downhill. I was afraid my mother's portable oxygen tank was going to run out.
