  It was very cold, windy, and rainy, but it still was a great hike. We got to the lookout and 3 other parties were there (the earliest group arrived at 11am). We ate a hot meal and took a much needed break from the wind and then decided to hike back down in the dark instead of setting up camp. Would love to return in good weather.

  The old fire look outs up and down the cascade range provide spectacular opportunities for day hikes or over night getaways. Park Butte is one of our favorites.but there are many more equally beautiful. I would like to thank the fire lookout preservation society for rescuing and maintaining these jewels of the westcoast.
