So I have heard great things about their food but in experiencesnever actually got to the food part due to HORRIBLE service. The first time, our friends tried eating here while we sat across the street enjoying Lost Dog's happy hour and watched as they got ignored by all the waiters while they sat and waited to place their order. Okay it was happy hour and one bad experience so we didn't think much of it. The second time my girlfriend and I stopped by for lunch, waited by the hostess stand for 10 minutes as the waiter stood and chatted with another employee the entire time. This second employee even made eye contact with me and didn't let the hostess know he had people waiting at the front to be seated. Needless to say we ended up walking out and again enjoyed a great time at Lost Dog across the street. Don't plan on giving this place a 3rd try anytime soon.

Dog friendly outdoor seating. Love the happy hour with plenty of choices to choose from. It's available until 7pm. Tiramisu was disappointing, taste like store bought. The wings and lobster risotto are both good.

This is just based on last experience. Usually we enjoy this place. I had my mother in from out of town so we chose this place for mothers day dinner. I made reservations on open table. We got there and they couldn't find the reservation. Then magically they found it. We were seated and then it really went down hill. The server came over and said ladies you get free bubbly guts what do you want your paying. We order drinks he walked away never offering the ladies drinks other than the champagne. Never offered appetizers I had to stop him and order app. We finished app and again had to get him to order food. We orders food and never saw him again for the next 32 minutes til our food came out. We all had empty drinks and again he never offered/asked if we wanted another round. I had to ask. My wife ordered the margarita pizza with roasted garlic. They brought out a white pizza with no roasted garlic and a little basil and he said they forgot the tomato sauce and he would being her a side of tamato sauce. Really! Thank God the crest of the food was excellent. He never asked if we wanted dessert, well he did come back and say you w want anything else. On the way out I asked for manager and explained the experience and she listen with what appeared to be shock and then said would you like me to give you something. I said no. I just wanted you to know how disappointed we were with the experience tonight as I thought you would want to know.

We have mixed opinions on Ovvio Osteria. We had come here a couple times before, actually wondered if they would go out of business it was so slow, but the food and service were great. Recently we came back and it was hoppin (good for them), however everything else was off. Hostesses seemed confused, set us at an ad-hoc table that was kind of in the way of everything. Server brought bottled beer when draft was expected. My pizza was great but my wife's salmon was dry and flavorless and the veggies tasted like windex or something. Its a little on the pricey side so I expected better.

This is for their brunch. I like their selection of items. Also, complimentary bread and olive oil with balsamic vinaigrette! Their fried chicken and prosciutto panini was good, though a warning, the egg makes it a messy sandwich. I will say none of the flavors really popped out to me, so I won't say it's amazing. The potatoes that came with it were good. They're prepared in a soft style that my mom didn't like, but I like. The sourdough pancakes have an excellent texture. My mom got the blueberry compote on the side though, so I don't know how they're normally like, but it was good with blueberry compote added later. The bacon was goodnormal, but good.
Service was good. No abnormal wait or rude service.
I like the atmosphere in the place. We were asked if we prefer low top seating or high top seating, so I guess that's a nice consideration. The low top chairs were comfy. Yeah, guess that's it.response / report this review -

Jimmy is the best. My family and I love him and keep coming back because of his hospitality and his drinks. The food is ok as well.

Not sure what has changed at Ovvio but the food has gotten much better. I had brunch here about 2 years ago and it was terrible. I stopped in a few weeks ago and have visited about half a dozen times since. Each meal has been excellent. Love the meatballs, seafood dishes and yes, brunch has improved as well. Prices are reasonable and the crowd is more "local" than the restaurants in the Mosaic District. It feels more like a neighborhood restaurant.
