there name is very deceiving, they have a regular MRI machine , if you are looking for an open MRI look some where else
I'm claustrophobic and was terrified to get MRI of low back and hips. I be had many MRIs but nothing prepared me for their excellent OPEN machine and it's a new super fast only 20 minutes and your not jammed in the machine it has space between you and its upright walls and my head was almost outside of the machine. I listened to music and was so relaxed. Wow!!
I went there for an MRI with contrast to my shoulder. They had to inject the contrast into my shoulder and then perform the MRI. I suffer from fairly significant claustrophobia and the doctor and technicians were informed, calming, explained each step of the process, gave me comfort and things went exceptionally well. They gave me headphones, which played music of my choosing and I even wore a blindfold to block out the feeling of being trapped in a confined space. I would return.
I am new to the area and my doctor is in Manhattan so I was hesitant to go just anywhere to have an MRI scan for the first time. I walked into Open MRI of Wall and was met by a very pleasant receptionist who told me I would be able to talk to the radiology technician and view the actual MRI machine before making an appointment. I couldn't have been more pleased with this reception since it quelled my fear of enclosed places. I made the appointment for a few days later and was treated with extreme kindness and respect. The whole process was quicker than I imagined and I left with a disc for my doctor who was very satisfied with the clarity of the images.
I just called this office 1/5/2016 to try to schedule an MRI for my mom. My mom cannot walk but can maneuver from her chair to the MRI table with little assistant. Although my family would have went with her to this appointment this office just denied giving her an MRI in there facility because of her wheelchair and her weight. Although they have the facilities to do it they will not. It was Joan and another lady and there technician who said NO because of her wheelchair. Then at the end of the conversation the lady said the technician said NO and we don't know if our wheelchair will hold her. Unreal. So first they discriminated against her coming in her own wheelchair saying that the wheelchair can't be in the room with the MRI equipment. Then she says that there wheelchair will not hold her. They have discriminated against her because of her Wheelchair and her weight. They don't even deserve a star but had to check something for this post to go through. This is not over.
I stopped in right after my Dr appt to make sure they took my insurance & to schedule an appt for a hip xray. They were all so nice & took me in, right then & there, for the xray! No wait..no appt!
I HIGHLY recommend this facility.
As for the review below mine.. The Dr specifies which part of the body to image.. so it really doesn't matter where YOU say your pain is. By law, they can ONLY do what is written on the script.
Not a good experience at all. Go somewhere else. they are not thorough, they were late for the appt they set at 7am. the woman at the desk had no interest in providing guidance about how to fill out the forms indicating where the pain was. she indicated that the forms didn't matter because he, the person doing the MRI would ask me where it hurt.
when i asked the person conducting the MRI how was he to know where the pain was and what area he would be focused on his reply was 'the doctor's script says". so now i am about to have an MRI where no one has accurately described the actual location of the MRI. i left without the test.
get your act together folks. this is what you do day in and day out. they should re-staff that facility with people that know what they are doing.
