ODU is the finest school to go to. Diverse students and staff. It reflects the world we live in and that is why I chose to get not one, not two, but three degrees from this amazing university.

Poor quality education and facilities. There are a couple brand new buildings; however, these are dedicated to research and not the classroom. Classrooms are filled with noxious air from surrounding construction. The Norfolk area is dangerous and very rundown. If you live downtown, which is quite nice, you'll be approached by panhandlers everyday. Also, the finincial aid office is not professional or trustworthy. Apply to George Mason University or Virginia Tech instead.

Bill Heffelfinger. Director of Graduate Admissions for ODU answered his office phone one hour after they had closed. I was really struggling trying to get all of my paperwork completed for the Fall 2017 semester. He is extremely professional and sincerely cares about the students no matter the situation. Mr. Heffelfinger's professionalism convinced me to enroll with ODU. Without his help I would still be lost and I probably would not be in school right now. Thank you for everything Sir.

ODU does not care about low income students who's parents are struggling with the cost of tuition, plus paying for parking. You have to pay $40 to set up a payment plan! Who does that? Then they tell you how much to pay and when! The payment plan should be setup according to ones budget I would assume. Shame on ODU!

I'm currently an undergraduate student and working on campus and I absolutely love it here. The campus is all about diversity and there's always something to do!

Proud ODU parent. Good professor-student ratio, free tutoring for undergrads, and lots of housing options. Nice urban campus on the river, close to Norfolk Yacht Club, and Ghent Historic District.

Currently in the RN to BSN program and it seems like the worst decision I ever made. I have had issues with financial aid every term, getting them to respond to email or finding someone on the phone who can actually understand what you are saying as well as be helpful is usually a shot in the dark. I have friends in other RN to BSN programs and the work load for one credit classes at this school is ridiculously high compared to other programs. They are not attentive to their students and the year I have been going there has been absolutely miserable.

Great college for the education!!! But it lacks severely in other areas its super close to the ghetto, not safe at night, to many dudes, and worst of all. no parking. You have to pay over $120 a semester and you are not even guaranteed a spot because they sell more parking passes then spots available. However, I received my degree here and loved the quality of the education and minimal distractions. I also went to JMU. to many distractions for those who truly care about their education. One bad grade in college will follow you for the rest of your life. Pick a college wisely and if you can live with your parents while going to college do it!! Don't be stupid and get all this debt because you think your an adult and want to live by yourself. Make it cheap, easy, fast, and maintain good grades!

Fantastic professors and staff; plus the location is great! Biking distance to shops and restaurants in Ghent and Downtown Norfolk, and only a short drive to the Oceanfront and Chesapeake Bay.

A good choice for computer science. They'll teach you the fundamentals and you'll have to learn the current best practices on your own. It's a longer but better road.
