Super clean, beautiful park. It's so peaceful, you feel like you're the only person/people there. No heavy traffic, no huge playgrounds full of screaming kids, no packed beaches. Just serenity. They have boat rentals, although i am unsure of the prices. Fishing is hit or miss, but if you find a honey hole, you can rock some good sized fish! They stock here and the stocking schedule can be found on the DNR website. The parking fee is $2 per car and a year pass can be bought.

Beautiful park stayed in the barracks with my family and sisters family very nice facility WiFi and satellite in the cabin beds are bunk beds but very comfortable mattresses on beds. Definitely exceeded my expectations of what I was expecting to have.

We went up there for the Trick or treating event and it was amazing. Even though it was pouring down rain, the campground was full and all sites were decorated extremely well and passing out candy! Can't wait to do it again next year!

Oconee is our favorite State Park. We have camped at 100's of different campgrounds but have camped her 100's of times throughout my life. So much to do and see. Always a fun time and the square dances are always a family favorite.

Although the swimming area and boating were closed for the season, my three year old son and I had a great time. The park appears to been updated since the last time I visited when I was a kid, and seems to be under construction now as well. Either way it was a great time with my son, and awesome reliving childhood memories.

We stayed at Oconee for several nights during the solar eclipse of 2017 (the campground was in the path of totality). We camped in the lake loop which has sites for both RV and tent camping. The campground is huge, with two lakes, a large forested area containing long hiking trails, and a number of things to do. And if you run out of things to do in the campground there are numerous trails and waterfalls in the area.
The camping area is well-maintained. The bathhouses are decent with some apparently better than others. Few things to be aware of: RV owners should note there's no sewer hookups, the WiFi provided is only available around the office and at the entrance to the camping loop (maybe in the cabins too, don't know), and there's little if any cell service in the mountains where the camp is located (I have AT&T and had no service at all until I drove a few miles south of the camp).
If we ever visit that part of South Carolina again, Oconee would be at the top of my list of places to stay.response / report this review -

I can't express how great this place is. Staff was great and so was the experience. If your looking for a place to stay with a large group of people this is the place. The history of the place is just another attraction. I will be back!

A nice place to camp. Lots of trees for shade and the ducks are great entertainment when they come to your campsite. This campground has seen a lot of hard use and is starting to show its age. The bathrooms are well kept but need ventilation to keep the odor down. The hiking trails are awesome and birdwatchers will enjoy the various species available for viewing. The area is quiet since there are not any tourist attractions nearby. However, the Dollar General Store just a few miles down the road is convenient. Be advised that there are as many campsites crammed in as possible and privacy is limited. Trees will make backing in some campsites a challenge. There is a ball field and a mini golf course to keep you busy.

My boyfriend and I stayed four nights and five days and we loved it! There are So many beautiful hiking trails. The park staff was very friendly. The park and park bathrooms are immaculate! We will definitely be going back.

My girlfriend and I stayed for 4 days and had so much fun. The hiking trails were easy to hike w few obstructions on the path. The staff was extremely nice and even brought us firewood after office hours. Our campsite had baby ducks that camp by everyday. No ticks, few mosquitos. If you're up for an adventure go white water rafting with the brochure in the office the company is N.O.C. So much fun!

I really liked this park. Its got a lot of activities from fishing , canoeing to ping pong tables and a mini golf course. There's something to do for everybody. Forget staring at cell phone because we had no service with 2 different carriers . So put em away and explore the park. We rode bikes all over park. The camping spots are tight for campers so beware if you are bringing in a large one. The lakes are beautiful ! Bathhouses were updated recently or just well taken care of . First park with no dumpsters I've been to, just place at edge of campsite and staff drive by and pick up. Ill go back eventually
