Nice campground. We'll maintained and inexpensive. Just stayed one night on our way South, but we'll be sure to stay again. Camp host was very pleasant and helpful.

If you have been coming here for several years like me, you will be saddened.

Everything that was once new and nice and clean a few years ago is now showing it’s age.

Graffiti in the bathrooms, toilet and sewer issues and icky showers. Your lucky if there is even hand soap, paper towels and toilet paper. 🙄

There are several campground hosts. I’m sure they work hard all day besides, making sure everyone has paid?🤔

I don’t think raising the camping fee is the solution. I think campers having respect for the campground and the NFS doing normal maintenance, would go a long way.

Nice quiet campground
DO NOT FOLLOW GOOGLE MAPS AND TURN LEFT ON FR266 OR 266 THAT LOOKS LIKE A WINDY DIRT DRIVEWAY
ESPECIALLY IF UR PULLING A CAMPER. !!!!!
GO FURTHER UP 2 BIG SIGNS FOR OCEAN POND CAMPGROUND ON SIDE OF ROAD.
Clean restrooms extra hot loveable showers.
Washer and dryer on site $ 1.75. PLASTIC ONLY.

Large sites with electric and water, dump station. Also has additional sites for primitive camping and sites for rv's with just water. No reservations first come. 30 day limit. Picnic table, fire ring, showers, toilets, and laundry. One of the nicest campgrounds.

Extremely nice campgrounds. Many of the sites are Lake Front. Bathroom and showers are kept extremely clean. Every time I have camped here, I have had a blast from the past. Staff and fellow campers are old school friendly. I have made friends for life while camping here. It is hard to say what was better, the camping /hiking /fishing or the conversations with other campers.

Added : My most recent pictures showing the campground show it a little overgrown. This is only because of the immense amount of rain they have had in recent weeks.. IMHO, it just shows how dedicated the staff is on keeping this campsite up to par. Absolutely a great staff and campsite.

We camped here in a Winnebago A, 37ft. towing a car. Plenty of room in each of the few electric sites with water. First come, first serve though, no reservations! Loving the peace and quiet. There are a very few sites along the water, but would be noisier with the boats. Water only and dry camping also available. Out of the way place, woodsy. Back ins only. Several walking trails along the entry road. Boat dock, all must pay to play!

I've been hearing about this campground for years since my parents frequently came here. It lives up to my expectations and more. There has been improvements since they were here last (late 90s); with more sites, concrete RV pads, new beach and updated wash/shower rooms. There are debit/credit washer/dryers (!), and very nice beach picnic area building. There is a small place area for children with a pirate ship and multiple trails for hiking. The forested areas are beautiful and the view of the pond (I would call it a lake because it's big) at sunset is wonderful. The hosts are helpful and full of suggestions about areas to explore and local activities. We will be back.

Very quite, inexpensive and secluded. It is first come first serve so at times the line can be long to get a site. They will not accept reservations. Excellent camping accommodation for restrooms, showers and play area for the kids along with a swimming area.

Well kept campground with camp host. I like it so much I return every winter. Best camping is between Nov 1 and May 1. After April the yellow flies come out in the thousands and they draw blood like a horse fly. What they call a pond is about a 2 mile round shaped lake surrounded by long leaf pines, cypress and oaks along with palmetto palms. Spanish moss decorates the trees. The lake has good fishing from what I see. I have seen a couple alligators but only at night. You can see orange eyes shine in the distance. They don't seem to be a problem as they shy away from humans.
Fees are $8/day for a primitive tent site. $12 for an RV water only site and $20 for full hook ups. You get half price with a senior or access pass. Nice bathrooms and the best hot showers. Stay limit is 30 days. Ocean Pond is surrounded by the Osceola National Forest with plenty of outdoor things to do. Lake City and its amenities are about 16 miles away.
