I love this place so much. It's so apparent that the staff here cares about the welfare of your pet first and foremost. The cost of care is very reasonable and in my experience, actually less than the chain vet clinics that often try and pass themselves off as being budget friendly, AND, the hours are much better. We racked up quite the frequent flyer miles here with the pile of kittens we helped rescue and all of them are happy and healthy after their rough start. I even go pick up my brother's kitten to bring here for him.

We have been taking both of our dogs to Northville Animal Hospital since we moved to the area a few years ago. Dr. Mortan has saved my dog Baxter twice! Last year out of nowhere Baxter back legs stopped working, Dr. Mortan was so kind to Baxter, and saw him regularly until he got better. You can tell Dr. Mortan truly cares about animals. Baxter's nerve damage is almost completely better now, thanks to Dr. Mortan. This year Baxter got an eye infection, the medicine Dr. Mortan gave him cleared everything up in a few days. I have used their grooming services and boarding also, I have been happy with both. I can always get the appointment time I need, even same day they will accommodate us. We have had nothing but positive experiences here.

DON'T TAKE YOUR PET TO THIS PLACE! Other reviewers with bad experience were right. I took my very sick cat there as my regular vet was not available. The whole place smelled terrible. It was very dirty and poorly maintained. No one weighed my cat (later found out she had lost 4 pounds). The vet came in, did not introduce himself and told me to take my cat out of the carrier. He rooted around in several drawers, left and came back with a thermometer. He was very rough with my cat and after taking her rectal temperature, he wiped the probe off with a tissue and tossed in (uncleaned) into a drawer. He mumbled a few questions about if she had fleas and her dental status. As soon as I figured out how inept he was, I got out of there as quickly as possible. Two days later, we took my cat to an emergency animal center. They detected a large abdominal mass and pale gums from internal bleeding (both missed by the vet at Northville Animal Hospital). We had to put her to sleep that day. Since going there, I have noticed every time I drive by, there are rarely any cars in the parking lot.

They almost killed my dog. We have moved to the area a little while ago. Our adult dog stopped eating suddenly, had very little energy and was acting different. Wanting to get him checked as soon as possible we made an appointment. We explained to the technician what was going on with our dog and we were afraid he might have gotten into something, but we weren't sure what and that his vaccinations had just expired. The technician didn't seem like she knew what she was doing and couldn't answer any questions we asked. The doctor walks in and sees our dog is 100 pounds and immediately screams at the technician to get the muzzle. Our dog is trained to be friendly and no vet or groomer has ever needed a muzzle to work on him. The technician comes in and puts the muzzle on, so I object and take the muzzle off. Without saying anything they took our dog into a back room and left us in the exam room. Doctor brings him back 15 minutes later and says they gave him his vaccinations and if he doesn't eat anything in a couple days to come back and they will do blood work. But that's why we brought him in the first place. We left with a bad feeling about this experience so while still in their parking lot, we called our old vet who is an hour and a half away and explained what was going on and he said to bring our dog in ASAP. After being with our old vet for 5 minutes they said that a sick animal should NEVER get a vaccination and after a normal exam they noticed something didn't feel right in his abdomen and rushed our dog into X-ray and ran a full blood work. Our dog is currently hospitalized for the next 3 days because his liver is shutting down and is on heavy medications. NORTHVILLE ANIMAL HOSPITAL ALMOST KILLED OUR DOG BY FAILING TO DO A SIMPLE EXAM AND VACCINATING A SICK ANIMAL! They sure were quick to take $250 for all his vaccinations though. We will never be back.

Very upset with my experience at this facility today. New to the area and was looking to transfer care to Northville Animal Hospital for my dog. My dog was seen today for an ear infection, anal gland expression and nail trim. No medical history or inquiry of current medications was asked by the vet nor the assistant. Allergies to medications (which my dog has many) was also not asked. My dog's ear was looked into and a swab was taken. The next thing I know my dog is being injected with shots without my permission or knowledge. In addition, a $190 bill was presented to me for the "care" he had received. No anal gland or nail trim had been completed as I had requested. However, after this terrible experience and taking a look at the bill I wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible. I am now dealing with an allergic reaction to the penicillin injection that my dog had received. Never returning to this practice again and I don't recommend to anyone that wants comprehensive care for their pet.

Dr. Mortan is wonderful and has been great with my dog! He and the staff have made it much easier to maintain my dogs senior health problems and failing kidneys. I would definitely recommend them!
