Great customer service. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Better check the recalls!
Please see UPDATE at end.
Northtown’s pretty dealership is happy to take your money and take you, too.
I purchased a Certified Pre-Owned VW from Northtown in December 2016. The sales experience with Greg Achramovitch was great. I drove 4 hours to look at the car because it was exactly what I was looking for at a fair price. Greg assured me the car would be thoroughly serviced before delivery and promoted their exceptional checklist that surpassed Volkswagen’s. I was impressed with their facility and the clean car and decided to purchase it and returned a week later to pick it up.
The CPO car died on the side of the highway 860 miles later. On the way to the airport. My important trip turned to a day of misery and many problems. VW had the car towed to the nearest dealer. That dealer found the throttle body was completely fouled and needed cleaning. They also found another $1200 of service issues they thought needed attention, including the brakes that Northtown told me had been repaired.
I wrote the President of Northtown and sent him a copy of the service list and bill and my expenses from the trip. Ten days later I heard from a service manager “Mike” who offered to pay for my expenses but would not pay for the service, saying they don’t check throttle bodies when they inspect the cars. He said he would talk to the sales manager about reimbursement and have him call me. No call. I called Mike back and he said he would ask the sales manager again to call me. No call. No check.
This weekend I received an email ad from Northtown promoting a throttle body cleaning for $160. Northtown couldn’t be bothered to do a $160 service as part of their certification of the car they sold me. Northtown lost a customer and worse created an unhappy customer. Do you want to be their next unhappy customer?
UPDATE:
After my review was published Northtown reached out to me to resolve the issues with my car. They very quickly repaid me for my expenses and the repair when my car broke down. They had another, closer, dealer inspect the brakes on the car and paid a signification portion of the cost of those repairs. I wish they had done more work before I took the car, but they did do their best to resolve the issues that arose, even though I am 4 hours away from the dealership and not a regular customer.
I had a great experience with Northtown Automotive (Millersport location) and I wanted to share it with anyone who is searching for a top-notch dealership to do business with in the Buffalo/Niagara region. From the moment I walked in the door I was met by smiling people in a modern, relaxing environment, all of whom seemed happy to be there. At all stages of the car-buying experience, I was treated with respect and patience- not once did I feel any sort of sales pressure which is generally the biggest qualm with automobile sales. Phil, my sales rep, was a true professional and ready to answer my questions. Go see him for a great used vehicle- it’s a pleasure to support those who supported me in this experience. The financing department was professional and took time to explain all of my options and I even had a gentlemen sit with me in my new car to run through all the of the vehicle’s features. Before I left, I was approached by the general manager who exuded warmth and expressed his gratitude for my business.
Not only does Northtown Automotive have great vehicles at great prices but I felt like they were there for me, not the other way around. What else could you ask for? I would send anyone in my family to them and that says a lot. You should give them a try, too, and see the difference. Big thanks to the entire Northtown team for doing what you do how you do it! I’ll definitely be back when the time comes. Thanks, Phil!
I heard great things about this place then the reviews scares me I'm looking to get a vehicle and its important that I purchase reliable transportation because I have a child that is ill that goes back and forth to the hospital.
I took a test drive and ad interest in the vehicle but after talking numbers i decided i did not want to pursue any business with kia. I asked them NOT to run my credit and i checked my credit score a few days later to receive an alert that my credit was run by Northtown WR at 3900 sheridan drive.
I could sue, but i believe they took the paperwork away from me before i could get it back. So im not sure if they have a signature. But verbally i told them to toss it.
Recently had a pretty good experience with northtown auto. I knew what I wanted when I went in and Stuart Cooper made it happen for me. My credit was non existent, I wasn't sure if I was going to be to afford the car I wanted. Stuart and the finance department negotiated with the banks to make the car affordable for me. Stuart fought for me, which made me feel valued as a customer. I would recommend Northtown Auto to anyone looking for a new car. Go see Stuart, he's the man!
I have purchased from the Northtown Companies for years. I am always treated fairly and with respect. My latest experience with Lexus has only reinforced this as they go out of their way to assist. I have recently referred my parents and they received the same courtesy. I am happy to recommend this group of dealerships!
Found the vehicle we were looking for online and drove 3 hours for a test drive. Very impressed with the dealership and well worth the travel. They made everything convenient and even drove the vehicle to us with everything taken care of. They went above and beyond our expectations. Very impressed with the service!
I had a very welcoming experience with Lisa and Scott. Both were very nice to work with. I liked that there was no pressure involved with the deal that I made with Northtown. All were very willing to help me in anyway and beyond into the next few years I will be coming there. This is my second time I've done business with Northtown and both times I've found it a nice experience. Thanks Northtown for your humanistic side to your dealings with me.
