Great place to ride in sand
It's out of this world!!!
North of the 78, it is designated wilderness and OHV are not permitted. The dunes are untouched and peaceful and you can run around them with wild abandon. South of the 78, it is a nonstop OHV party with tons of adrenaline. You pick your poison. North of the 78, there are very few people and no one ever came to check for our vehicle permits. The road is pretty rough and although passable by regular cars, a few of my friends did get stuck in the sand and some nice people in dune buggies and trucks had to help them out.
Wa! Great great fun.
Amazing sand dune riding. Crowded during big holidays. Follow laws/rules, tons of BLM patrolling. Need pass to camp.
The dunes, the buggies, the drags, the concert! Halloween weekend at Glamisthe Best!
I've . seen them in the day , but this is the first time at night . And wow out of nowhere come sand rails and jeeps flying by as if they were in a race . Was pretty spectacular .
