Second college I've been to, first that has an actual game development program. Sadly, it's been a year already since I've been to class since financial aid doesn't provide enough for me to return. I hope to as soon as possible. Anyway, from the5? Classes I've taken I've gotten some great top notch teachers who clearly knew what they were doing and had experience in the industry. One criticism is DSS is a mess. While I've been able to get things figured out they themselves are confused about how their curriculum works. It has changed since I've been on campus so I get to go through the joys of DSS and myself being confused on what classes I need to take next to continue and which ones I don't have to take now that it has been moved around again. Dreading having to enroll again, but goes pretty smooth once you're in the loop.
If you're going into 3D environment art, Collin and Gil are both 10/10 teachers. Highly recommend.
Math & English classes easy to get into. Never horibble parking like the riverside campus. If you enjoyed this review please press the like button so I will keep more reviews coming.
Can't really relate to the other posts because I went to JFK and we didnt have to pay for classes. So I didn't have to deal with Financial Aid. But I can tell you that it's a very bleak college. Not much to do. Classes are okay but the good ones are not here you have to go to RCC. I guess if you're more involved on campus it's not so bad.
I have been on the phone for an hour trying to reach someone in the financial aid office and can't. at one point I was transferred to someone but because it was the riverside campus they said they couldn't help me and transferred me before I could get another word in. At another time I was transferred to another person but I don't know what happened that I couldn't speak to them or they hung up I'm not sure. all I keep getting on machines and voicemails all of their options lead to nowhere and everywhere I look it says they're open.
Worst collage ever its a dessert and cant get good classes because they don't even have them here.
I love the campus but the staff and the Financial aid office are horrible. I've been going to this school for 3 years. I always used my mother's tax information for my financial aid. Let me remind you for 2 years I qulified then somehow I became ineligible for financial aid. Nothing change for my income or anything. I go to the Financial aid office to figure out what's going on I talked to admissions and records for almost 45 minutes after to coming to conclusions of what was going on the admission and records stated that someone in financial aid messed up my paperwork and that's what made me become ineligible. So for three semesters I have been an ineligible but I wasn't shown any paperwork or given any noticed that I was suppose to pay. So the day after I registered for classes they finally send me a email saying I'm ineligible and need to pay for the semester which I did but then I also got hit a $1500 bill for previous semesters on top of the $650 that I just paid for my current semester. When I went into the office to figure out where this bill came from they played stupid like they didnt know what I was talking about and it basically kept going back and fourth of he said she said because they didnt want to be at fault. THERE OWN ADMISSIONS AND RECORDS DEPARTMENT EVEN WALKED OVER AND SAID THEMSELVES THAT SOMEONE IN FINANICAL AID SCREWED SOMETHING UP!! So after that was stated they tried to find reasons why I couldnt be eligible like if I lived with my parents or not. Beware of their financial aid office and stay updated on your own paperwork.
Good college. I had a very good experience here. If your thinking of going then definitely go. The teachers really do their best at teaching and will help you. The counseling center is a big help for getting you to transfer. Campus is small though.
Great environment and a wonderful faculty and staff. Anyone that is thinking about going back to school, go here, and don't be shy! Definitely ask questions and participate.
This has too be the smallest and most unhelpful college I've ever seen. Don't bother calling for help, you'll be pushing numbers and going in loops for hours on the phone. If you actually need help you have too go to the campus, otherwise totally not helpful.
