The Newport Harbor Hotel and Marina is currently looking for an energetic Hotel Sales Manager with proven hotel sales success to join our team at our property located in downtown Newport, Rhode Island.
The Hotel Sales Manager will be responsible for strategically soliciting and developing new accounts, maintaining excellent rapport with existing accounts and successfully promoting the hotel to the community.
A minimum of three years experience in a hotel sales management position and a college degree, or equivalent, is required. The ideal Hotel Sales Manager must be able to develop and implement strategies, with the assistance from the Director of Sales, in an effort to meet and exceed all sales goals. We are seeking a dynamic, organized, outgoing, personable and business-minded individual with strong communication and negotiating skills.
Requirements: •BA/BS preferred •At least 3 years experience in a full-service hotel sales role •Knowledge of business practices and sales techniques •Strong and effective communication skills (verbal and written) •Ability to efficiently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment •Solicitation of accounts in assigned markets, proactively manage all aspects of the sales process including sales presentation, proposal generation and contract negotiation, to yield maximum revenue.

This is a supervisory opportunity for a motivated team player with great customer service experience.Our Front Desk Supervisor works along side our Front Desk Agents to welcome our guests and assist them in making their visit successful and enjoyable.
As the Front Desk Supervisor, duties include, but are not limited to, assisting Front Office Manager to supervise Front Desk staff, responding to guest questions or concerns in a timely, professional manner. Ensure guest satisfaction 100% of the time, meet hotel and service standards, answer guest questions, offer area information and assistance, registration and departure of guests, communicate with other departments to fulfill guest needs, follow through on all guests requests and take ownership of opportunities that may arise. The Front Office Supervisor will be in charge of the daily front office and "AYS" operations while working cohesively with the Front Office Manager. They will be responsible for leading shifts and assisting guests at all times.

Our property is located in the heart of downtown Newport, Rhode Island.
With 133 beautifully appointed guestrooms, adjacent to our privately owned and operated marina, and 6,000 square feet of banquet space, The Newport Harbor Hotel & Marina features Saltwater as its primary dining experience. Saltwater is a serious casual high-volume restaurant, extending indoor and outdoor seating, located on the harbor. Saltwater serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner with room service offered as well. The maintenance technician's main priorities are; to ensure high levels of guest service and satisfaction, follow Chief Engineer's instruction, follow standard operating procedures, follow safety precautions, and complete maintenance requests accurately and efficiently.
Previous building maintenance/repair experience is a MUST; hotel experience a plus.
Pay rate is based on experience between $13-$14/hour.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Communicate with multiple departments to receive and complete daily work orders to maintain general conditions, safety and health standards as required.
- Maintain the exterior and interior of the hotel and restaurant, including painting, cleaning, repairs, etc.
- Work closely with Chief Engineer on special projects as needed.
- Keep a positive attitude
- Interact professionally and kindly with employees and guests
- A friendly and welcoming personality is a must and be ready to put our guests' needs first!
