Love this aquarium! When we lived in New York, used to visit it every other week. My kids had fun every time we went there. Sea lion show is amazing!!!
Every Friday after 3pm you can enter for as low as $1 !!! Well, you can always donate more if you wish.

One of my favorite places! They have been renovating this past summer, not sure when the shark tank will be back. It's a little expensive to get in. Definitely take pictures and eat before going in, food cost over the top. Then enjoy the boardwalk and beach afterwards.

Even though it was still under construction, the assortment of sea creatures was amazing. You can hardly tell that about half of the aquarium is off limits due to construction, the exhibits that were kept open are excellent and well maintained.

Avoid the aquarium on weekends and when schools are closed if you do not like small children running around all over the place.

They are in the process of renovating half of the Aquarium, as a result the ticket prices were reduced by about 50%. The fish in the Aquarium are diverse and some of them are very interesting. It is a great educational place to go for a few hours with children. The Sea Lion loves to "laugh" and they have a 4-D theatre that kids also love. I personally got the season passes to all the Zoos under this umbrella which includes the Bronx, Queens, Central Park Zoo.

This is still in the process of being rebuilt but whatever was done so far was impressive. There were many species of fish and a few interactive parts- which is great for kids. The sea lion show was fun to watch and the 4D movie was even better! Overall the place is up to date and very informative.

Much of the aquarium was closed when we went due to renovations. The show was pretty cool but directed more for small children. Which was disappointing. But still well done! The exhibits were clean and the fish looked healthy. I enjoyed my visit there

Although they are not completely open yet, (they are still rebuilding after Sandy and they are building an entirely new section), it was completely worth the 3-hour drive to get here.
The displays that they do have open are very good. But, it's the sea lion show that made it worth the drive. It was absolutely amazing!!

Part of the aquarium is under construction until 2019, I didn't get so see a lot. Wanted to enter at the "pay what you wish" time but the queue was very long one hour before, so I went in paying the admission. The aquarium itself was average I would say. I have been to a lot of other aquariums and I found them better. The bathrooms were also not very hygienic. It's a great place for kids. But that's it.

It's still under construction, but for what they have it keep kids engaged. Note, the touch tank closes from 11 to 12:50 and if your not first by the seal exhibit it's hard to see when they do the feeding demonstration. The staff is courteous and knowledge and the "Quests" are great. It's definitely worth a visit.
Can't wait till the construction is done and open up fully. The renderings I have seen look amazing.

It was alright. My little nephews (age 6 and 7) seemed bored at the show. One even went as far as actually telling me. However i enjoyed the seal show. I thought they were cute and very well trained. I enjoyed the various aquatic life as well. And the ticket price was well worth it! A younger crowd seems more likely to have fun. Good family outing though

I want to give the aquarium 5 stars since I really do love it there. Unfortunately, the place is pretty small and there aren't a whole lot of exhibits. However, the exhibits that are open are great and the sea lion show is sooo good - Ozzie is the best!

Unfortunately I have to give the aquarium only 2 stars because it is currently under construction. Lots of things are off limits. The staff is still very good and helpful. This rating should not represent the workers they're are doing their best. I just feel like something called NYC aquarium should be a lot more memorable than what is currently there.

I've been here in the past as a child and other aquariums and of course The reputation of NY Aquarium didn't hold up today. Renovations are still going on, so many places has no access but yet the gift shop was up and running (of course). We were there literally for 45 minutes and done. Disappointing all around but the attractions that were up and running are okay. Hopefully after the fix up it will be way better.

This is a fun family outing. A lot of the experience is outdoors so dress appropriately. We got to see some cool fish. The penguins, otters and seals were my favorite. They have daily shows so check to see when online or call ahead. They are under construction now so you won't see a lot of the exhibit which is a bummer. Would recommend coming when they are done. I didn't see any options for guided tours so keep that in mind as well. Will definitely come back once construction is completed.

I want to give this place a better rating but I can't right now. Everyone who works there is awesome and they really try, but they got screwed by hurricane sandy so there's not a whole lot to do there and you can run through the place in about 20 minutes. This will probably change once they get their new addition all set up. Can't wait for that.

Having said that, it's still a fun place to take little kids. The animals are super cute
