My original vet was way too pricey so glad I found Nemasket great service and good prices.
After my visit Tuesday, I remember why I always request appointments with Dr Grant and only Dr Grant and will wait until he's available. Not only is he a great, caring vet, and understands Gracee is nervous around those she doesn't know, he also has "good bedside manners"
Dr Leeven comes in the room stating and implying that I've killed my dog, caused her to be in kidney and liver failure, not concerned about her legs right now, needs to do blood work to see how bad it is blood work came back perfect btw. her response, dodged a big bullet there..ZERO apology
I'm 99.9% sure, Dr Grant would have come into the room, said hello, something along, oh no, make sure you don't give her any of that again, let's run some blood work to make sure everything's ok.(bedside manners).
Dr Leeven did say once the medicine clears her up, bring her back for leg, spine, back, and hip xrays..Medicine was all pills, Gracee doesn't take pills well, last ulcer med was liquid, every ulcer med I've ever been given was liquid, 3 hours later she vomited (1st time vomiting) and has been vomiting ever since.
Gracee has been a patient there 8 years and 8 months but without a sincere apology, she will never be back for anything.
I need ulcer medication now.
I have used Nemasket Vet (Dr. Grant) for 13 years. I am now switching vets. Since there are now "new vets" in business with him, it seems the techs constantly change and they DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING! Asked weeks ago for an emergency visit, not knowing, but suspecting, my pup was bit by a snake. I was told, "We do not have any appts open" I said it was an emergency, needed to know if snakebite on face"Cannot work her in, we are booked up." Had to go to emergency vet in North Charleston and they were a BLESSING, because it was a snakebite, copperhead (killed the snake). Then Today, I took my pup to have her nails trimmed, they put ANOTHER choke leash on my dog when I had already taken off the first telling, telling them NOT TO CHOKE MY DOG, THEN I HEAR NOTHING BUT SCREAMING FROM MY PUP! Her nails were cut too short and one has been split!!!! Sorry Dr. Grant, but I will not subject my dog to such cruelty by these brainless techs of your. I love dogs and yet these "new people" have no idea how to treat them!
Love them they've always been nice get you in right away an genuinely love animals I've been to a lot of vets but this one is for my babies thank you Newmasket!!🐕🐶
Brought my cat, Bug, in about a month ago. Bug had an infection on her tail. The tail has healed beautifully since they gave her antibiotics. Dr Ford and the staff were very nice. They were petting her and comforting her the entire time. I just adopted another cat and I'll be sure to bring her to them.
This is a very friendly office, the veterinarians are all very nice and very helpful. Prices are affordable also. It's not very fancy but they care about the animals which is what is important to me!
We have been bringing my pup here since we got him to get his nails trimmed as they were highly recommended for being quick and gentle with pets. Sure they are quick, but the staff seems to think they shouldn't be bothered with questions or really anything at any point. If I'm just letting you know that I'm taking my dog outside so when you're ready we will be right outside the door I don't think that calls for you to be rude and cut me off to tell me I just need to wait. I'd rather take my business somewhere else and pay a little more to get better customer service. Definitely wouldn't recommend to anyone else.
We have always loved the doctors here but the support staff tends to be somewhat rude and seemingly bothered by questions. Sometimes it takes several minutes to be greeted or checked out at the end of a visit. The office also often feels grimy and unclean. None of this bothered us very much as we liked the doctors and thought we were getting good care. We recently moved and visited a new vet. Their yearly check up included drawing blood to test for heart worms, a stool sample to test for worms and a standard treatment to ensure worms that could go undetected are not present. We were blown away that none of this testing or prevention was done for the last few years we visited Nemasket and cannot believe we had such poor care for our dog.
This is one of the kindest vets I ever visited. Everyone there is wonderful, kind, and compassionate about what is happening to your pets. I have taken many pets there, and just love that place!
They are very good with the animals they see. The doctors and nurses are very nice and the place is very clean.
Caring, professional. I have brought my fur babies here since 1974. Whether for well checks, illnesses, or end of life decisions, Dr Grant and his staff are the best. Wouldn't consider a different veterinarian.
Such nice people. They take excellent care of my babies.
I brought my German Shepherd here and feel in love with the staff and their care for my baby girl. Sadly, I had to recently put my girl down. She had cancer on her heart. They were incredible throughout the whole process. I now have a new puppy German Shepherd and refuse to bring her anwhere else but here.
This was my first, and will be last, visit. The doctor was very nice and worked well with my dog. However, the business plan at this office seems to be to schedule as many appointments as possible, without making sure they have the time and staff to handle all of their patients. The waiting room was way overcrowded and made for several obviously nervous pets. I waited about 45 minutes, and another pet owner I spoke to had been waiting for over an hour. The vet tech was rude and defensive when asked if this is normally how they schedule appointments. After I questioned her, she refused to make eye contact with me, and overall I had a very unpleasant experience.
