  This should be a required museum for every single American. We got there at 10:30 and were kicked out at closing time at 5:30 and we still didn't make it through the entire museum. There is so much history and information that it almost seems overwhelming. This was one of my favorite museums. The concourse levels can be a little tough to go through, but it is important history to know. The upper levels are very interesting as well. The number of items they have been able to curate is incredible. Make sure to put time in your itinerary to visit.

  It was a good trip to the museum. It was fast and easy to get access. I was able to get tickets the day of for the time I wanted. The museum exhibits were done very well and tastefully. The museum is absolutely huge and I would for shire come back. The only issue is the parking in the National Mall is terrible. But overall good experience. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes because you will for sure be getting your steps in and it is a must go!!!

  It was my first time to this museum and enjoyed the moment. There was so much to take in from our visit. One question I asked people there was did you get this teaching in school? All those I asked responded with positive no. Our schools miss great moments in our development Our hotel was were helpful in providing information on ways to get to the museum without taken our car. It was so helpful for no confusion. Not need to check meters and very informative. Great history lesson for everyone who take out time to enjoy the experience.

  A must see! Everyone should see and reflect on this part of history! A full day of opportunities to learn new things on a matter we think we already know enough. Truly eye opening!
  When you first get in it's kind of tricky to know where to go or to figure out by yourself how it works. So Go to the huge info desk in the middle of the main room where a super knowledgeable and friendly staff member will give you a map explaining how it works.
  The visit is best enjoyed if starting at the bottom floor down the escalator to a very worth extra exhibit on the left. Then go to the right from the escalator to the elevator that will take you down 3 floors, to start a travel in time going up (literally) to current times. Highly recommend to see every floor but you can also just see individual floors if time is an issue. Just choose wisely depending on your interest.

  This museum is immense it's heavy but it's very well-thought-out and well curated. It has so many things in it to see and to experience. I would recommend it for everyone. It truly takes you through the African American experience historically through modern day and helps you understand the culture that many African Americans share in this nation and helps you understand how the history informs that culture. I strongly encourage you whether you think you know the history or not you should try this museum
