One of my family members is dealing with a chronic health issue, so we have been in and out of many hospitals in Brooklyn over the past few months. I can say without a doubt that this is the worst hospital in Brooklyn, and possibly the worst hospital in all of New York. Literally go anywhere else, even Coney Island Hospital will treat you with more respect.
The doctors here care more about avoiding lawsuits than they do about treating people. They will blame you for any failures in their own treatment under the pretense of avoiding legal blame. Facilities are mediocre, and communication between "teams" treating you is completely nonexistent. We had to repeat details about past treatment (medicine regimen) several times a day, every single day of my relative's stay there.
I am not sure if this is because they are incompetent or because of a lack of trust. But this is endemic to how they treat people in this hospital - no trust, no respect, and often, with outright hostility.
And unrelated to the atrocious staff at this hospital, most of the hospital resides in a cellphone deadzone. Want to call your sick relatives at the ICU? Good luck with that.
Was admitted on april 16, 2018. Was operated on same morning. All went well.nurses and aides were greatno complaints about anything during stay.
Brought my elderly mother to ER and she was very well taken care of. Eventually she was admitted for a three day stay. Found the new NYU Langone ER to be much better than the Brooklyn Maimonides ER.
Worst hospital and doctors not professional at all ! They just want to charge the insurance for nothing! They give me appointment and the doctor didn’t show! Am so disappointed
The hospital is good and most of the workers are great. There might be one or two that are lazy which make the place look bad.
But, Most are amazing, very helpful, Dr. Raymond B. Walsh is one of the best surgeon. I have met some amazing nurses.
Since it is managed by NYU, I can honestly say that my elderly father was well taken care of in the ER. He was also well taken care of in a regular room. My only two complaints is that the night cleaning staff is not up to par and I did not like that they wanted to give my father more tests than needed .
DO NOT I REPEAT DOOOO NOT GO TO WOMEN'S HEALTH ACROSS THE STREET
very UNPROFESSIONAL how are you supposed to be a OBGYN meanwhile you got your ASSISTANT doing all the work for you smh pathetic. THEN mind you they had me waiting almost 3 hours to Just tell me i cant do a sonogram "because we dont have that technology here" MEANWHILE there was that specific machine in the other room. I want LUTHERAN back.
Very bad service I have ever seen in my life in this hospital. They send the bill to wrong address and then they reported to my credit.
The dental clinic is a place for resident dentists to train. So it's a lottery. And it's hard to meet one doctor twice. For those with no money or bad insurance.
This is the worst hospital I've ever been, the moment you walk in you feel like you walked into a project building, some of the nurses are okay, but the other half are just lazy. I had one of the nurses rip the IV right out of my arm, which cause me to bleed out of control for a minute, and she pretended as if it was normal, and that was just my arm, from an IV. the doctors are very dismissive, and it didn't look like anything was going to be accomplished at least not today. i felt like I had a better chance in my house.
The best hospital in Brooklyn. People here is caring and compassionate.
I've heard a lot of bad things about the ER here but I'm glad I didn't have one of those experience. The PA and the doctor were really attentive and caring. The nurses on the other hand can be a little forgetful and forget to get your lab report. The entire trip took around 4 hours and the wait wasn't as bad as I thought.
This place sucks this my second time and my last one, seems like they're just trying to get rid of you fast, first time they told me they don't give nothing for the pain other than Tylenol,..I can do that on my own,and now they couldn't do anything for my ear problem, they look like they were angry at something.. Forget it no good!!
Worst hospital I have ever been in. The staff is incredibly rude. The doctors are inattentive. Many tests were done without my knowledge, nothing was explained to me and then the doctor prescribed 8 oral antibiotics for me at once when the reason for my visit was digestive problems. I have been to NYU Langone and the level of service is infinitely better. I'm surprised NYU associates with such a terrible hospital.
Glad to share my experience with youit is a TERRIBLE HOSPITALMy mom has been going for years and the administration sucks, you have to wait for months literally to get an appointment, some doctors litterally play with the patients health and are all about milking the insurance, spreading the visits unnecessarily, they dont take the time to explain carefully so the patient understand instructions,I am surprised that people still go there having other options. Yes it is close but come onwith all the resources they have it should be a more pleasant experience.
The staff act like whatever, take it or leave itmy advise..LEAVE THIS HOSPITAL, MAYBE THEN THEY WILL GET THE MESSAGE AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
Had to go to for a bariatric surgery. The surgeons were very friendly and nurses at the ICU were great. Later on, I was admitted to a regular room and it was the worst experience. Room was very cramped and hot, there was blood on the pillow, nurses were very slow, WiFi was terrible, and TV had to be paid for.
They are really slow! I had to spent 5 hours waiting, with 2 children and my wife. After 1 hour and 45 minutes waiting I tried to talk to someone that could help, he said he would, but he didnt. I continued waiting and waiting. Every procedure takes more and more time. I hope I never have to come back.
I was admitted into ER then to the delivery ward. they treated me well. except one ignorant doctor her name is Fatima . OMG she was a nightmare that stayed with me for 12 hours. she was nervous, arrogant and horrible in treating people. However, everything else was really good. nurses, the doctor and my stay was really good
I had a tooth extraction. I was told during my consult that I could get the gas. It was my first extraction and I was extremely nervous the day of the procedure. When we started getting set up they told me they would not give me the gas. This resulted in me shaking and crying uncontrollably during the procedure. It was like my worst nightmare come true. It took 3 people to get the tooth out of my mouth. Pulling and yanking on my face with all their strength. I felt violated. I was only given an antibiotic and ibuprofen for the swelling. Nothing for the severe pain I am enduring in my Jaw. Mind you because my tooth was so hard to remove they had to remove extra bone from my jaw as well.
I can barely open my mouth on day two. The bedside manner was poor and when your clients are that scared give them the freaking gas!! Not to mention when I left I had blood all over my cheeks that they didn't clean off. I would not recommend this facility because most oral surgeons would at least give you a small amount of low dose pain killer for the first day or two. Not make their clients suffer through mideval torture. When I called the facility two hours after my extraction about the pain I was in and my traumatic experience I spoke to a woman who was very cold an unsympathetic, like that's just how it is you have to deal with it.
