So I went on a roadtrip with my buddies from Toronto. We were looking for a good spot to eat before the Steeler game the next morning. Decided to stop by Mullens and were pretty disappointed. First off, I thought I came to a bar but I guess I went to Saturday night mass. How am I supposed to drink my pint and watch football when Alvin and the Chipmunks rendition of Silent Night is blasting in the background. But you know what, I said let me get some food and enjoy the game. So I ordered the "award winning" wings, but these things were dryer than the Sahara desert, and with the gallons of sauce they drenched them in, I almost drowned. Now I know why they have a 6 wings option.
Fortunately, I don’t have any enemies that I know of. If I did have enemies, I would consider sending them to this horrible place.
The menu proudly says that all hamburgers are cooked to the customer’s degree of doneness and then mentions that eating undercooked meats can be dangerous and at your own risk. So when I ordered my burger, I asked for a red or pink center. In my experience, ordering this way avoids a discussion regarding a chef’s interpretation as to what he/she thinks medium rare means.
Our server said that she would ask for a burger cooked this way, but could not promise anything because “he already had made some burgers.”
Well I don’t want one of those I said. I wan’t one cooked with a red or pink center. The server said she would ask the cook.
My half pound burger (as described on the menu) came out cooked through dry and in my opinion had never come from a half pound patty. In a word, disgusting is higher praise than this atrocity deserves. Not only did they make no attempt to honor my wishes, but somehow the preparer seemed to have decided that ALL burgers would be cooked to his/her liking.
SureI could have sent it back, but I was afraid to do that; certainly in this place.
I hope someone in authority outside of this restaurant will come in and weigh their “8 ounce” patties. My guess is that they are 4 ounce patties.
Mullen’s is a terrible place to eat. Maybe the bottled beers are good.
Amazing tots! Service is wonderful and they are always ready to accomadate. We go here often to watch the UFC fights because they always have them. Its a Must visit!
A must go to if on the North shore, or nearby. Plenty of room for groups and lots of bar space. Plenty of TV's as well. I always go there when in town. Decent bar food as well.
Atmosphere was ok. Service is amazingly slow. Inattentive waiter who disappeared for long periods of time. Wings were marginal
Ok place to watch the game. Ok place to kick back on a Friday night after work with co-workers. Decent food and friendly staff to help with whatever.
Terrible service. Supposedly you can only have four different checks. Never coming back. Bad food. Bad service. Bad management. 0/10.
Usually not too bad. Sat for 15 minutes. All the employees seemed to be on their phones. Did not get waited on. Went next door and had a delicious burger.
Wanted to like this place so much more. Was cool to find a bar playing the Big 10 and the atmosphere seemed to be decent. The service though was so bad. Sat for 10 minutes at least before being served. Was slow overall and the place was not even busy. Had to chase around to get service after waitress closed out and yet again when we wanted to close out. Will look elsewhere next time.
Awesome atmosphere and great food.. fantastic service!
First time I ever ate there and the food was very good, especially the wings. My girlfriend got a quesadilla that was well made and the service was too notch.
Lots of seating, good bar food and drink selection
Food is good but not the menu found online. Loud DJ playing gangsta rap didn't fit the venue or crowd. Poor beer selection.
When I walked in it was very slow due to it being October 31st. I asked the staff who around had the $5 burger special and that's when the server Kaylee told me they had a $2.00 burger. That's when I said, "well then I'll just have that!" The staff was AMAZING! The food was STELLAR. The burger I had would have to be one of the best I've ever had if not the BEST! The tater tots were the best tater tots I ever had and all for $2.00 because of special for happy hour. Highly recommend this place!!!
