I absolutely love this place! I usually make it to San Diego once or twice a year, but when I get here I always go to Mr. Peabodys. The staff is outstanding, and always make you feel like a local. I always order the grilled shrimp tacos, and they are fantastic! I also highly recommend the carne asada fries. It is a small place, but it is wonderful!

Friendly neighborhood haunt! Not just burgers & beer full bar & nice menu selection. Sit inside at the bar or cozy tables for sports or bring your pooch & done on the patio.

Friendly staff and great food. Been coming here since the early 90's. Jimmy and Bobby started a great restaurant that has only gotten better. I do miss the 75 cent Turkey Taco, but it is 2016

Best sports bar in San Diego. Great food, service and very reasonable. Great atmosphere. Kinda like Cheers but on a smaller scale. I have been to the real Cheers in Boston. You definitely will not be disappointed. Regulars are local and very friendly. I go there every month with my brother who is well known at the bar. Have a great time.

All other reviews are correct about the food options and the service.
BUT, I have a recent complaint. I only go there a couple of times a month. I am a student of Spanish and all of the cooks are from Mexico. They are so sweet and when they have time, they let me practice the language with them. There is a jukebox ( AMI company) in the restaurant. I know which Latin Amercan songs the cooks enjoy listening too. So for moral and their pleasure I play them. The cooks all enjoy that very much and thank me for playing the tunes. BUT,, here is the shocking result! The owner of Peabody's asked me not to play the music as the regulars do not like it. The regulars rule the restaurant.

So, it is discrimination against my choice of music. When the owner is not there, I can play the music. BUT, get this trivial situation. Recently she was there and started blocking the music I was playing from the jukebox. ( of course she has the master password as owner)

This is a ridiculous thing to do, and really not even worth my time to write about it, but it is good for other customers to know that you better not play Latin American Music. Isn't this a hoot!! How trivial! Plus. when the owner had been a prior server in Peabody's I always gave her huge tips! I even tip the cooks independently as they work so hard. So much for appreciation!

I do not understand her attitude and am sad about the discrimination and small mindedness displayed

BUT the food IS good and the variety has certainly improved since she bought the business.
