Our organization of 100 people recently stayed here, and we could not have been more pleased with the cabins and the staff. The cabins were in great condition upon arrival, included all kitchen utensils needed, linens, shampoo, body wash, etc., and even had a flat screen TV! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Our organization worked with Raechel, MLL Catering Event Manager, to organize this event. She was nothing short of awesome. When you think of 'extraordinary customer service,' this is what you think of! 6/5 stars

Mountain Lake Lodge is a beautiful destination. The hills and valleys of Virginia are beautiful. Hotel is well kept, clean and the staff are very helpful. Food is amazing. The bison burger and fresh cut fries were delicious. The ground are maintained well and each locations marked form the movie Dirty Dancing. Unfortunately the lake is dry but conservationist are work to restore it naturally. Over we had a great stay and we would stay again. Would recommend it to anyone with a family or anyone who loves Dirty Dancing.

Thoroughly enjoyed our first trip to Mountain Lake Lodge, checking an item off our bucket list! The resort is just breathtaking from every view! There is so much to see and explore. I'm a huge Dirty Dancing fan, and loved all the details, the walking map, and the scene locations to check out. We stayed in the stone lodge. The moment we walked into the beautifully decorated lobby, we were delighted by the tunes of a jazz quartet. Our beautiful room had two comfortable queen two-poster beds, beautiful bedding, plantation shutters on the large window, and a classic art deco bathroom with subway tiles, retro sink and shower faucets, and honeycomb floor tiles. The interior of the lodge is filled with photos and memorabilia framed down the halls, so it was fun to read about the resort history. The lobby is so lovely, with many plush couches and wing back chairs to sink into - each accessorized with a mlreplace in the lobby is the focal point, drawing you near to relax. We had dinner in the tavern next to a roaring fire - the chicken sandwich with pesto aioli was particularly amazing!

We stayed in one of the lodges kind of far away. It is very beautiful and the lodge is great. Everyone has been super nice, though there has been a few minor issues, such as there being very little toilet paper when we arrived. They brought more up when we called and asked though, and overall has been very helpful!

Bill and I have been to Mountain Lake several times, but this, by far, was my most favorite♥
The folks there could not have been more accommodating, the food was superb, the weather Saturday was absolutely perfect, and we just can't say enough about our visit! I hope if you get the opportunity, you'll give the gem, practically in our backyard, a try. You will not be disappointed! 😙response / report this review -

This has been an amazing stay! Everyone has gone out of their way to share tidbits of info about the actual filming of Dirty Dancing. Our cabin was gorgeous with an amazing view of the grounds, Baby's Cabin, the Gazebo, the Boat Dock, and the "lake". The hiking was superb. The Harvest Restaurant and Stony Brook Tavern served delicious food. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The only thing that would have been better would have been the lake. Obviously that is out of their control. Other than thatI couldn't have asked for anything else. ❤️❤️❤️

We didn't get to stay here so that is still on my bucket list but I asked my husband to take me here before we moved cross county to CA (military) because I'm a huge Dirty Dancing fan. This place is downright beautiful!!! I could only imagine what the rooms looked like. But it's so spacious and full of wonderful cabins besides the lodge itself and has games, several hiking trails, and stunning views. We took quite a few pictures. And of course bought a very cute Dirty Dancing shirt.
Only thing that broke my heart was the Lakeit's sadly no longer there. Would have loved to have seen it but that's okay. Natural things happen that causes places to change and that is what happened there.
It still has its magic though and that is quite appealing. I truly hope to return one day and stay there with my husband and daughter for a few days and adventure around on the beautiful hiking trails.response / report this review -

Incredibly scenic and serene, Mountain Lake Lodge really is a great place to escape the daily grind. There are cabins, lodge rooms, and suites nestled into the mountain. The vistas are spectacular. There are walking and hiking trails galore. You can go zip lining in the trees, play archery tag, enjoy a giant inflatable water slide, and more. The employees are incredibly nice and helpful.

Obviously the big draw' here is that Dirty Dancing was filmed here, but it's also a working Resort that is really beautiful and serene. There's an on-site restaurant called Harvest, which is good, along with a bar and a little ice cream shop. My room was very clean and comfy, but know there's no AC in the entire place, so even with my window open and ceiling fan on, it was a bit stuffy last night. The staff are very kind and parking is $10. I'd totally recommend it!

The grounds were lovely, the weather great, and the staff friendly and helpful. The room was simple but comfortable, and I loved the tile and older fixtures in the bathroom. The food was great, as were the drinks - especially both the blueberry and raspberry mojito. We only stayed one night so didn't get to do any activities, but several looked interesting and fun. It's a nice place to visit even if you don't care about Dirty Dancing. If you do, you'll recognize the various locations and the staff (especially Mike the bartender) are knowledgeable and happy to answer questions. I definitely wouldn't say no to returning!

BEAUTIFUL hotel and grounds. Lots of hiking trails around and an awesome activity camp (ropes course, archery, etc.). But don't plan to use the lake at all. For various natural ecosystem reasons, it hasn't been full since 2005. So you can't really go swimming or anything. But everything else is beautiful there. And if you like Dirty Dancing, there's some cool stuff from the movie there. We'll be visiting here again in the future.

It's a trek to get here through winding mountain roads. It's 30 minutes from the city. The grounds are breathtaking. Lots of things to do like a game room, restaurant, Dirty Dancing mini museum, gift shop, numerous hiking trails, event center, zip lining, archery, adventure sports area, and much more. It was out of our budget with rooms starting at $200+ a night with 2 night minimum, but we were there for a wedding. Great location for a wedding. Like something out of a magazine.

Was there for a convention, so did not stay overnight. However, did explore the main Lodge quite a bit and walk the grounds as well. Beautiful stone construction on the main Lodge. Despite the heat of the day, was relatively light and airy even in the outdoor parts. A really neat place to visit. Be cautious on the road up or down the mountain. Very curvy. I wish the lake weren't almost dried up. I'll bet it was absolutely gorgeous in its day. There are still a lot of activities available and the landscape is beautiful. Mike, the bartender on duty, was extremely friendly and professional. Definitely wouldn't mind a night's getaway there sometime.
