MSMC is an outstanding institution for an all around education. There are many educational opportunities as well as extracurricular activities. You will meet many friends for life. Great place to experience living away from home and becoming an adult, receiving a good education, an opportunity to play a Div III sport, and having fun.

Loved my time at the Mount! The college was small enough that everyone knew you, even the Professors. It also has a well rounded curriculum and continues to expand today to keep up with today's job trends. The campus is breathtaking and the staff are phenomenal!! Some of my closest friends today are the ones that i met at MSMC over 30 years ago

I had an AMAZING experience at Mount Saint Mary College. Reading some sour reviews on here reminds me that students need to be the ones to make the first step in order to get the most out of their college experience. The Mount has so much to offer. The Career center motivates students to take on as many internships as possible, the student life departments help students grow and work on leadership abilities, and the theater program works with students to reach their full potential. I highly recommend students to attend Mount Saint Mary College, and get as involved as you can!

From an educational standpoint, my experience at The Mount was one of a kind. Every professor I had in my field took the time to get to know me and make the most out of my time and learning. One of them even invited the graduates of our department to her home for a celebratory dinner before graduation! I was very lucky in that sense. Additionally, I met some of my closest friends there and there was always something fun to do! I highly recommend to anyone looking to peruse teaching or nursing.

I had a incredible experience at Mount Saint Mary. Not only did I receive an incredible education but I met my husband there (married 22 years) and made lasting friendships. I continue to use my degree in Public Relations and still refer to the things my professors taught me. I was very prepared for my career in Public Relations and Event Planning thanks to what I learned at the Mount.

I highly recommend that you do not invest any money into this school. All they care about is your money. As a freshman you are shown luxurious suites in Sakac hall, overlooking the river. Once you become an upper class man you move into the college courts which are the shittiest dorms you can possibly imagine. You are pampered with the suites and once you move into the courts you have a small room where you can barely arrange your furniture and must share nasty unkept communal bathrooms. Another thing about the courts is that during the summer the AC never works and your room is about 85 degrees every single day.

First things first, security sucks. They only place security in the front booth when they know there is an event that parents and families will be going to. The surrounding area is not the best at all. There have been instances where students have been robbed on the block of the school and there have been active shooters on campus which placed the entire school in lock down. When there are security instances we are notified only that there is an ongoing investigation but never what has happened. As a resident student I believe it is my right to know what is going on in the environment in which I spend every day and night in.

Secondly, the food is disgusting. Often times the meat is not properly cooked. The options are horrible and for the most part the food is either undercooked or just unappealing and dry. I have had to complain multiple times about my meat being uncooked, pizza being dry because it had been left out for way too long and even undercooked omelets.

Another thing that is a major concern of mine is the higher authority here. I am not even sure who the dean of the college is. Residence life is a complete joke. You go to them with your problems and they brush you off. I have went to them multiple times and they failed to address my issues each time. Initially my roommate was stealing from me and I was not reimbursed for anything that was stolen. Instead they placed an order of protection against me saying I am not to speak to the girl or her friends. Excuse my language but that is bullshit. Residence Life Staff will not accommodate you to where you are comfortable, they will do whatever they feel they want to do. There are rooms that are empty, but they will not place you into a double occupancy room as a single person. HOWEVER, there are many people who live on this campus who live in a double occupancy room by themselves. If I pay the same amount of money as them I should receive the same benefits.

You can go to a much better school for way less money and get a better education. I highly advise taking your money elsewhere as I will be doing after the Spring Semester of 2017. College is supposed to be about experiences and enjoying yourself and I have had the worst experience ever at this college.

I'm a transfer student with national recognitions for both academic and service based achievement and let me first say, that I have never worked in such an unprofessional environment in my life. I'm a BioChem major with a minor in math, and this school is absolutely detestable in its treatment of commuters and transfer students.

I was regarded with nothing but contempt by the faculty, one professor going to far as to say that I would never be able to compete with a student who had spent their freshman and sophomore year at MSMC because of my public education. They take great pride in ostracising and making fun of anyone who doesn't fit their country club standards, and this is just the professors, not the students. I listened to a biology professor bad mouth a student researcher, while asking another student out to drinks. The professors will openly talk in the science lobby about how their students are failing because they "can't read."

They will not cancel classes for bad weather, even though 30% of the student body are commuters that have to cross the bridge to get here. There is no professional respect, no sense of community (which they make out to be a large selling point of the school) and very little to offer in the way of scholarships, internships or co-ops. They even make you PAY to receive your Dean's List certificate, because apparently 35,000 dollars a year doesn't cover a scrap of paper.

I also strongly advise that anyone visiting this school take it with a grain of salt. You Freshman, they'll show you the Sacak dorms which look as magical as can be, and they'll gawk over the view but there is no substance here. After your freshman year they'll move you to the college courts, and to give some perspective 2 buildings in the college courts just had to be vacated and relocated because the pipes exploded in the middle of the night, covering both the students and their belongings.

This school is held together by duct tape and flaming tuition money. Do yourselves a favor, you can get a far better, far more affordable education at an institution that will value you as a human being and not a straight funnel between them and your wallets.

As a side note, the school email they gave us prohibited the use of the 'review' feature here on google. Which says quite a bit about them as an institution. If I had another option other than restarting my junior year, I would transfer out of here in a heartbeat, you couldn't pay me enough to stay.

As a person used to big, sprawling universities, this location was quaint and quite charming. The campus is cozy, and the staff and students are really friendly and helpful. Layout is intuitive, dorm rooms are spacious, main dining hall has a wide variety of food options catering to every taste, and the small chapel is nice. Class sizes look small, and one gets the sense that as a student you would have no trouble fostering a one on one relationship with the teaching staff. Campus overlooks the hudson river and the view is quite impressive. I enjoyed my visit here

It's been well over a year since I have played for Julia Steese and I must say that she certainly did make an impact, on and off the field. However this impact was in the most negative way possible. She constantly made me feel poorly about myself mentally and physically and didn't even need to play for this coach for more than a year for me to write that here.

Let me just cut to the chase by saying I always find it interesting when 1 person has an issue with a coach let alone 90% of the team

Contact any former players for details.

Does it say something that she has kept in touch with ZERO of her former players?

Does it say something that she said NOTHING to her seniors or their parents on senior day?

Does it say something that she repeatedly sat her best players and refused to give them a reason why?

Does it say something that she has ZERO seniors on the team after the class of 2015 had 9 total recruits?

Does it say something that not one player above the class of 2015 is on any of her plaques she sends out (whether they be the best or worst players)?

Does it say anything that the school has to send out an e-mail last year to all girls at MSMC asking if they wanted to join the lacrosse team because she couldn't field enough girls to play?

These are all questions I would love to hear the answer to after observing what happened to this program after Coach Simone left and this woman ruined my following year of lacrosse

This really all just goes to show how much of a joke the athletic programs at the college have become if they're going to keep such a loser like her. I'm pretty positive she cares more about her dog than any of her players.

I used to be proud to say I was a part of this program.. now I'm straight up embarrassed."
