3 trails: Indian Monument, Squaw Peak, and Hickey. Nice views on Squaw Peak. Well-maintained. Doable for kids and dogs. Parking right at trail head.

Great short hike with amazing views! It's a steep hike though, so be prepared. Definitely worth it though.

A favorite for local and visiting hikers, and the views from the top are wonderful. Too many tourists on summer weekends, and if you bring your dog during the summer, expect far too many "visiting" dogs hiking off leash. Heading to the top from the left as you face Monument from the parking lot is easier than heading up the right, but either way is fairly strenuous for a rather tame looking "mountain".

Great entry-level hiking.
Very well indicated. Paths kept clean. Good with children and trained pets - extra care must be taken for the Devils pulpit as there is free access to the cliff. Bring your own beverages as there are no water fountains. Also bring a trash bag with you as there are no trash bins at any point of the circular trekking path.

Nice views. Easy hike in an afternoon. Some rocky places but doesn't require hiking boots. Parts of some trails look like they would get muddy and collect deep water when it rains.

Excellent hiking up the mountain to a wonderful vista. Two options up- fast and steep, or easier around the back side.

I'd call it strenuous hiking as opposed to climbing. Dogs in shape can do it as well but only if they're in shape.

The view from the top makes it all worthwhile!!

Great quick hike. Went before noon on a summer Monday and we only ran into a couple of people. There isn't a lot of wiggle room at the top so I can see how it could get obnoxiously crowded easily. Took this out-of-shape city dweller about three hours round-trip (including picnic time at the top) doing Hickey --> Squaw --> Monument Trail.

I had the most delightful visit to monument mountain today. The ranger on duty, Tom Jensen, was so welcoming and got me set up with a parking label for my dash. It was free admission or free parking for opening day of the season which felt gratifying because I was expecting to pay. So I donated the cost of parking. When I got back down the mountain I spoke with the ranger some more. He was so kind and warm and we ended up chatting for quite a while, which resulted in my purchasing a membership. Anyway I just wanted to say that the ranger really impacted my day positivly. The hike was also great. The trails were well maintained, had nice rock work and signage and the view was great. It's a nice hike not too long or tough but with rewarding views.
