The hotel was nice and clean in the lobby and in our room. For the price it was a good deal and a comfortable overnight stay. The location was behind a Target off of a main road. We could hear the traffic from our room. We chose to skip the breakfast and go to Starbucks. The hotel clerk took care of us without any problem even on a same day booking, but he wasn't very friendly compared to the southern hospitality we received elsewhere.
Good rooms for the price. The staff is friendly and the place is very clean, though the parking lot can be difficult to navigate if it's full. My husband and I stayed here while were in town visiting a relative in the hospital.
We stayed in a handicapped accessible room and the bathroom was super roomy and very wheelchair accessable, but it did lack counter space. The bed only had 3 pillows (I sleep with 3 myself so it was rough between me and my husband) and though the blankets on the bed were warm enough it was strange to have no comforter. I didn't think to ask the staff for more pillows or blankets, but everyone was so friendly I'm sure they'd have been happy to provide them.
We did hear someone coughing and snoring in the next room over, and it was very easy to hear noise in the hallway (there was a large space between the door and the carpet), but none of it was bad enough to really disturb us.
Overall our experience was pleasant, and we would probably stay again.
The hotel is clean and the rooms are decent. Request a room with frig and micro because they don't all have them. Several of the rooms are not 100% up to par. I had one with no running water and another one with a nonworking receptacle in the bathroom, which made fixing my hair a pain. We were able to secure a special rate as commercial guests needing multiple rooms per week for 5 months.
The bedso comfy and clean. I checked the room with a florescent light, it was clean. I didn't hear anything from the other rooms, sometimes hotels are used for, well other than sleeping. Very nice and quiet, my choice for the future !!!
I want to warn others to not stay at this motel. I recently stayed here for one night, paying for the single night with a credit card.($87). Later, upon reviewing my credit card statement, I found an additional $250.00 charge posted the week following my stay. I filed a dispute with the credit card company and when they contacted Microtel they were told it was for "incidental charges" (a pillow & alarm clock were supposedly missing). Multiple attempts to contact the manager, Mr. Patel, were made without success- he was either "not in or unable to answer a cll" and he never would return any calls. After this incident, I looked at some other reviews and found several similar complaints (extra charges, changed bills, etc.). I have also contacted the Microtel customer service to report this incident- I can't help but wonder how many other times this place has fraudulently billed others Do not risk staying at this location; there are too many other safer places in the Tuscaloosa area! If you have ever stayed here, review your monthly charges carefully to make sure they didn't also do this to you!
Horrible. Was put on the ground floor in a room so we were woken at 6am with everyone eating breakfast and yelling. Also some how our 2 queen size beds turned into full size beds. Not very happy about my stay.
Staff was friendly and helpful, cleanliness was fine. The hotel itself seems to be made of balsa wood and crepe paper. Everything is audible. The bed was terrible.
Disappointing experience, even for a down-market hotel. Found ants and a cockroach in the room, and would not trust the cleanliness as a result. Rooms were modern and nicely furnished but breakfast was very poor. I would recommend finding another option in Tuscaloosa.
Great clean rooms just very small rooms we have 2 year old so wasn't quite roomy enough. But, rooms were very nice and very clea..
Service is wonderful. They provide a gift bag with water, popcorn, etc. The rooms are large and very clean. The hotel is very nice, and at a reasonable price.
Wonderful experience. It was a great value & the room was clean. Bring ear plugs if you waken easily. It is easy to hear loud noises if the exist next door. The staff was cordial. We WERE planning on another visit during football season. however, the price jumped from $99 to $400. That was very disappointing. I was hoping this place might be different than other price gougers in Tuscaloosa. (just my opinion)
This room is made for single person or couple the rooms were very small and really was not big enough for me my husband and my two kids. On the up side the rooms were clean and up to date.. The breakfast could have been better but not the worst I have ever seen..
