Warm cookies were excellent! Front desk attendants were very friendly. At the time we visited you could not purchase wine from the sundries area but otherwise was a good experience and close to campus.
This is the place to stay when in T-town. The staff here is super nice. The hotel is always clean and well maintained. Baumhower is located right next door if you need a bite to eat. The hotel is only minutes away from the beautiful Crimson Tide campus. You can actually see the softball complex from the hotel. You will be throughly satisfied here.
Our front desk lady was a treat Cheerful, helpful, and genuinely good at her job. She made our stay brighter. The room was well sized, very clean, and comfortable. The bed was a little hard for my preference but I slept fine on it. There was also a lot of water noise where we were, but it was mostly unobtrusive. The worst part of the stay was the breakfast: the coffee was not good and just about everything in the breakfast area had or was touching nuts, which due to a food allergy, meant one of our party could eat nothing in the breakfast area.
Pretty standard for the brand but the location was central to everything - short drive to Campus and the Strip as well as the shopping district. Front desk staff were super friendly and informative, breakfast was plentiful and kept fully stocked even with lots of visiting sports teams coming through. Great and affordable base for our college visit to U of Alabama. Roll Tide.
Staff was amazing. Very friendly and willing to do just about anything to make sure stay was great. The Only issue I had was with the fitness center. This was one of the dirtiest rooms I have been in. There were cobwebs along the mirror and the equipment was rusty. The elliptical machine was so rusted and old I had to place a folded towel under one side of it to use the safely. This needs to be remodeled or at least extremely cleaned soon.
Clean room, nice bed. The only complaint might be the night light in the bathroom. It is very bright and the full length mirror in the room is placed such that it reflects directly on to the bed if the bathroom door is left open.
Asked for room in quiet location and was put in a room across from elevator and ice machine. Shower doors were almost impossible to open and close and the a/c was loud and also had a rattle, likely the fan. Very disappointed as I usually have good experiences at Hampton Inns.
My children and I had to evacuate from South Florida due to hurricane Irma. We stayed in this hotel for eight days. This hotel was very clean ALL the staff members were AWESOME!!! They made my children and I feel very comfortable and welcomed!!! This hotel has been the best hotel we have ever stayed in!!! Thank you so much!!!!!
Excellent!!!!! Very pleasant experience. One of the best Hamptons in my experience. Very clean. Good breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. AC noise was quickly silenced by a young man who took the problem seriously. I would choose this Hampton and its staff over all the ones where I have stayed. We travel frequently, so this type of lodging means a great deal to us. Thank you at Hampton Inn Tuscaloosa-University. The restaurant next door is excellent, too.
I was 5 mins away from checking in. I called to make sure there was a room available and he said the computer is down and he can't check. He asked me if I could go online and make a reservation. I told him I can't since it was 12:30am and online only allowed to make reservation for the following night and not the immediate time. I asked him to help me get a room because my wife, daughter and I have been on the road for over 6 hours and we're exhausted. He said he can't do anything.
Since I was 5 mins away, I asked him that if I came into the hotel to get a room, that he can't help me?? He said he would have to turn me away because the computer is down and he can't even see which rooms are available.
I don't understand how you don't have a backup plan when the system shuts down. That the only course of action is to turn business away???
I'm very disappointed in this hotel to say the least.
Friendly and professional staff members. Excellent service!! Best experience at a Hampton Inn.
Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Staff was friendly and happy to help with anything. The location was nice and close to UA.
We stayed at this hotel for a wedding, it was the closest to the venue. I was very impressed by the service, the front desk lady called us at our room after we checked in, to see if everything was good. I didn't expect that call and was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean, no problems at all. Breakfast was free and decent. Would recommend this place to anyone staying in Tuscaloosa, superb place!! Keep it up!
I know my headline sounds like an overstatement, but truly, this is the best Hampton in in America. It's clean. The staff is great. And it's quiet as heck (at least the weekend I stayed there owing to some repairs at our house). I had bronchitis and just needed to sleep in a quiet place while my husband tended to the household repairs with repairmen on site. I arrived here early in the morning and they let me check in early. The next morning, I had breakfast and returned home. I like that they have signage related to the University of Alabama. It adds a special touch. We often stay at Hampton Inns and are familiar with their black and white photography. Cute, but this place takes it a step further and offers encouragement via the coaches for UA sports teams. Roll Tide!
