I went there for information technology. I had quite a blast, but there was a lot of drama. The staff are a mix. My instructor prepared my very well for entry level IT. I'll be honest, his teaching style isn't for everyone, but if you stick around in his class you learn a lot. Food is okay, but the Pine Cove is a lot better. Bring activities with you because there aren't many things to do there, especially in the winter. I've met some amazing friends and made amazing memories. Not all trades are created equal, from what I've heard. My brother graduated from their commercial printing program and he liked it. Another couple of pros is that it is free and has a beautiful lake view. Keep in mind that the school is intended for entry-level jobs in their fields. If you are interested getting an entry level IT job, I highly recommend this school. I especially recommend this school for those coming right out of high school, so if you still want to go to a university or something like that, you'll have a decent job to help you save for it instead of working for McDonald's or something. I recommend this school.

My trade was useless! I was in retail marketing. I was in my trade work field for 2 years and 1 month. This school is a joke don't go to it!

Pros
• Lots of fun things to do
• Great events
• Great place to make friends

Cons
• Deplorable Staff
• Preposterous Rules like gotta have name tag out at all times (Can't even take out your wallet and show it to them)
• Bad shower heads
• Bad Internet Service (You can't use any other internet provider except what's on their flyers)
• Food is not Culinary
• Atrocious Laundry Machine's
• Bad Transportation

If you wanna survive in this environment I'd follow these steps

• Buy a Portable Washer - Washer and Dryer costs $1.00-1.25 ea, a Portable Washer would help budget your money
• Buy a humidifier - Dorm Room managers always advise you dust off everything, including your windows, a humidifier will diminish that chore
• Get a 2-door Compact Fridge/Freezer - If you love your frozen goods then you're gonna need a bigger freezer and not those compact fridges with those small freezers that is enough to fit one Ice tray, no.
• Wait till the very last sec on a Microwave - They always have a microwave downstairs and theres no telling whether your Roommate will come with one of his own.
• Look into a Portable Hotspot or buy off a dorm mates wifi (Or you could look at the flyer board)
• Buy Bottled water - I never trust their filtration system which is why I get lots of water bottles from Walmart down by Oaks crossing
• Buy waterproof Sandals or Flip Flops - Trust me you don't wanna go walking barefoot on their floors especially in the showers.
• Build Associations - You're not gonna make it solo-dolo, make friends with those who have the same career as you.
and last but not least
• GET A DRIVERS LICENSE - It becomes tiring laying your butt in the dorm room stuck in a boondocks environment, you wanna get out and go places but you cannot do that with their transportation. Unless you have friends with a license you're just gonna be stuck waiting to go to a Walmart and come back.

Trust me its not easy being far away from home where you're most use to things but with my method you'll just about make it

It’s beautiful out here. The college is right on the lake with a beautiful nine hole disc golf course. It’s a nice place to get out of the car and take a walk.

I graduated from there back in 2001 at that time I was young and stupid and all most didn't make it. It had it ups and downs. Some of the staff was rude and treated you like you were 2 yrs old but in the long run i learned alot and I am now doing ok.

I really loved it when I was there I just wish I could have finished. I wanna come back for like cooking and cabent making. Because I wanna at least try get some sort of deegree I will admit I was young and stuiped now I am more worried about getting a good job oh and I wanna go for nurseing so that way I can help our fellow senior citizens out

For me personally, I found MCTI to be a good place. Not great, not horrible. I am currently still at the school and I personally like being here much more than being home. I feel accepted here with my disability, the staff here often try to push you past the limits you set for yourself because they want you to succeed, well most of the staff. I will not lie, some of the staff here do not care, to them this place is just a government job.. To me and many other MCTI students, this place is home.
I know one question I had before coming was how is the food, the food definitely could be much worse, but its no 5 star restaurant, that's for sure. They do offer a salad bar every day though, so if the meal they prepared is not appetizing to you, there is always that option.
Honestly people make this place out to be a horrible choice for education, but I haven't really had that many issues in my time here. Sure there is a lot of drama, and I do mean a lot, but in the end you are here for an education. which is completely free I should add, so don't take this place for granted, so many people would kill to have the opportunity to get schooling for free.
