Stopped there on the way to Merietta. I was with my daughter and three year old grand daughter. It was about 7 pm and we were tired and hungry,we had worked all day and driven in from pittsburgh.We were seated right away there were three tables with people at them in side and two tables with people at them outside where we requested to be seated.The menus were delivered right away and ice tea and apples juice were brought to the table and our orders were taken. Tables began to fill. We waited one hour and 20 minutes for our food.People who came after us had ordered, eaten and left. We were never asked if we wanted more tea and when my daughter asked for more it never came. We were told twice that bread was on the way and 45 minutes later it finally made its way to our table,but still no food or even an acknowledgment when it was coming. Still more people eating and leaving, and still no food or tea.When the food finally arrived we ate quickly because we still had a long drive with a tired 3 year old ahead of us.Now we couldn't get the check. I asked the server for the check and tried nicely to explain why we needed to leave.10 minutes later no check.My daughter got up to take my grand daughter to the restoom and I asked another server if she could get our check.when my daughter got back I told her I asked another server for the check. She told me she overheard the server I had asked for the check tell our server we waned the check to which she replied "They can wait a minute."We allready waited 80 plus minutes. When she finally came with the check I tried again to explain why we needed to leave. She stood there hovering over me like a vulture over road kill,smirking. I left her 83 dollars on a 66 dollar check,more than 20 percent and never even got a thank you. I don't know if it matters but I got crab cakes, my daughter, a pasta dish, and the baby chicken fingers.The food was good,but we were treated very badly, we were very respectful the whole time we were there and said please and thank u at every opportunity. I love Wheeling and the history behind it. It's a beautiful city and I wish it the best. But next time we pass through I'll find a McDonald's. The service is better.

Incredibly good food! My girlfriend and I are in town on business and this place was suggested. We sat outside on a nice night, service was good but the food! Man the food! Everything we had was fantastic, higher end dishes at great prices. Will be back for sure.

My wife and I were visiting Wheeling and went to the Grill for dinner last Friday. The food was outstanding and the service provided by Sara was top-notch. I had the filet mignon stuffed with goat cheese and my wife had the crab cakes. The filet melted like butter and the crab cakes were prepared to perfection. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I have been going to the Metropolitan a few times a year since they opened(I don't eat out much in general). I honestly can say I've always been treated to delicious meals. I consider myself picky when looking at restaurant selection any will only eat here and three other places in the local area based on food quality and taste. When I go here, I typically order calamari and the pear endive salad. The calamari is consistently made the same way with a crucnchy texture which I love. I've also had their seared tuna and pork more than once. Other people I have gone with have been pleased with their meals as well. Each time I have gone I've had good service, lunch time or dinner time. White linin tablecloths and uniformed servers provide a nice atmosphere. Personally I would go here for lunch in jeans and a nice top with flats or heels and maybe the same attire for dinner but generally for dinner, I dress up a little more behind jeans. It is the only restaurant in Wheeling I consider upscale. There are many other casual restaurants to choose from in the local area for more casual dress. Give it a try:)

Ordered a cheeseburger a few weeks ago medium well and received a very burnt burger with so much salt on it all I could taste was burnt salt, worst burger I ever had, threw it in the trash.

The only fine dining restaurant in the Wheeling area. Everything from the staff to the quality of food and service are pretty exceptional. This establishment is clearly is a passion project for the owner who has done a marvelous job
