Merryfield Gardens is a super location to shop for special indoor and outdoor plants. The staff is welcoming and knowledgeable. It is a great place to browse and is much more than a plant store. It is a destination that is not to be missed. They are pet friendly and a terrific place to bring the kids. It is a fun place for people of all ages.

Place has everything. For dog lover's, there's a dog named Remington on the left side of the store about halfway through. Bulldog, very sweet. Loves being pet and has a squish face. Christmas time is when the atmosphere is at 100% and they give out free cookies and drinks. Just got a Christmas tree that's beautiful.

Two months ago we purchased $1500 worth of products that included over $500 in beautiful banana trees. We paid for delivery. They arrived lying down in the back of the delivery truck. Not sure if that contributed to the disease and eventual death of one of the trees within 30 days. No matter how hard we tried, the beautiful trees began dying within ten days of purchase. We contacted Dan one of the managers at merrifield gardens in Gainesville, VA and asked for help. The first time we asked, he gave us some broken bags of peat moss to add to the soil mixture and offered to help us again with either a refund or other assistance if that didn't work. We contacted him after the banana tree finally died and mentioned he would try to help but it isn't policy to refund. Not very happy with Merrifield Gardens method of support especially when you spend over $1000 in products. Recommend shopping around if you have the time. As of SEP 2017, we have one less banana tree and two more slowly dying.

Nice stuff, but mostly overpriced. Great store layout and lots of friendly staff. They have a small indoor cafe, which is nice. Food is OK but like the other stuff, a little over priced.

Prices are high, but you get what you pay for. A cool local family owned and operated business. Dog park in the side parking lot. A pretty decent cafe in the back of the main building, and they always have tons of events, classes, workshops, and even wine tastings.

I agree with others that it's beautiful at Christmas, but the exact same box of 4 ornaments (just a different color) I bought last year for $16.99, (I checked to be sure) was $49.99 this year. I really can't understand how they can justify a price increase of almost 300%!

Even better at Christmas! The Merrifield Garden Center in Gainesville is always great, a little pricey but quality products, however it's even more fun and gorgeous during the winter months when they get set up for Christmas. They have a display area for every type of Christmas theme, whites, golds, classical, new age they have tree styles for them all. I highly recommend them but even more so during the Christmas season. Although fair warning they can be pricey.
