I would just like to say that mennas joint is a very great place to get food, and being an employee here I would like to address some previous issues discussed. Be aware that we aren't ignoring your phone calls sometimes they don't come through, and if we are really slow on certain night we will shut down early so that may be why our times say 3am but we closed at 1 or 2. You have to remember that most of the employees working here our college students dealing with just as much credits at 75% of our customers. Customer satisfaction is our number 1 priority.

Time for a novel, everyone! Disclaimer: I take food very seriously, so my rating could be seen as biased. If you don't feel like reading all of this, then the short version is: this food is as good as sex, but sometimes you can't get it; that's a problem, since the food is not actual sex, and you should be able to get it when you want it.

Whenever I get food from here, it's like eating a warm, hearty bundle of pure euphoric pleasure, and I've had most of the dubs on the menu as well as the sides. The delivery fee is very reasonable as well, which is the decisive factor between getting this or a pizza most times. As much as I love the food here (especially when I'm drunk), it infuriates me that for a while now, I call and receive no answer whatsoever. There have been at least 7 occasions since welcome week when I've let the phone ring for so long, that I could live life and start a family before someone picked the phone up. Obviously that's an exaggeration, but I do wait several minutes for an answer; it isn't just at lunch or after mid night when there's a rush either, these are random times during the day. Last week, I confirmed that by coming into the store personally after never being answered, and there were 3 employees, with nobody else in the restaurant. I don't know if your phones aren't working, or you guys just choose to ignore calls, but someone needs to address that. That alone is why I've taken 2 stars off. Mennas I love you, and I love your food much more, but please answer the phone before the 27th ring Even if you answer and say "please hold."

Also, stop shutting your grills off hours before you close please I get that youre working until 3 or 4am, but it's just piss poor effort to do that just for the convenient excuse of "we can't make that, our grills are shut down for the night." I've worked in food for 3 years before, and I know that your grill doesn't just have some kind of magic timer that makes it turn off irreversibly for the rest of the night when 1am comes around; that tells customers that you're infinitely more concerned with taking it easy for the rest of your shift, than you are with satisfying the people that give you money.

Food is still good, but the place is starting to look a little shabby. Couldn't wash my hands due to restroom being out of order. I thought the Health Dept required an operating restroom, but I don't know.

The restaurant is fantastic when it's open. Food is great. Problem is it never actually seems to be open anymore. They were closed for summer so that was totally understandable but it's been a week since Grand Valley reopened for the school year and the Allendale location still isn't open. Either that or the phone is disconnected. The schedule on google says it ought to be open but when I call I get nothing but a busy signal. Every single time I call I get a busy signal and they have nothing on their website letting students know that the restaurant is closed or when it will be open. No answering machine, just a busy signal with no explanation. This is unprofessional. If this were fixed, would rate 5 stars.
