I get delivery from here somewhat frequently and love to get their "hero" subs. I've never heard them called that before (is that a local thing?). Anyway, the subs are awesome and I like to throw in a few berry muffins with my order because their blueberry muffins are pretty good also. Therefore, I'd give their food 4 stars. However, I ordered some berry muffins with my order today and received [what looked like] cinnamon muffins; presumably because they didn't have berry muffins in stock. They didn't call me or inform Grubhub of this substitution before doing it. I happen to have a very minor allergy to cinnamon so threw all of the muffins out. I contacted Grubhub, who contacted Mclanahan's and received an apology and refund through Grubhub for the muffins. I'd give customer service 3.5 stars. However, I'd give their delivery system less than one star due to this potentially dangerous business practice of substituting items without asking, or even telling, the customer first.
A little bit of everything. Large store with spacious isles in a great location.
I’m not one to complain but lady at the checkout on the right during the day is extremely rude and disrespectful every time I go. Makes me never want to go back. She is so rude and does not have any customer service skills. I’m done shopping there unless I really need something from there
Very convenient store for the college kids. The prices are a little high, but you're paying for convenience. They have everything that you could need.
A good place to go buy something you need right away. Not good for grocery shopping itself. Poor selection and pretty expensive.
I worked there for a full year and it was the worst year of my life. Anytime I enjoyed my job for a moment management would swoop in and shut it down. I worked full time making $8 an hour and if I spoke to a co worker, used the restroom, or even had a snack it was the end of the world. They also denied all my request off even the ones the agreed to when I was hired and requests I made months in advanced. This place literally gives me nightmares.
There are two big, bold, bright red signs next to the sushi in the College Ave. store that say "Made Fresh Daily" but it is NOT and it stays the same price the whole +/- week it sits there! Talk about false advertising!! The containers that have been there since at least yesterday have a "sell by" sticker for May 26!
If McLanahan's gave a ff about me as a customer OR if they needed my money I would give them more stars because I like to support local (and they're pretty og locals to this area), and they have pretty deeeec sandwiches yo, but they make a killing and there isn't much accountability in this college town so they don't have to care about individual customers. I have seen them kick someone out because the person had a service dog. It is illegal to deny entry to a service animal, so we called the police, but I didn't wait around to see the resolution. Hopefully the police explained to them they're error, maybe I can get the BBB to do the same about their false "fresh" signs
How can I complain!? I bought a great quality sweatshirt for only 20 bucks! They also have great supplies for around the house! So fun to shop here!
A classic mom and pop type store for college students. It sits right at the bottom of Shortlidge, right next to South Halls. Great accessibility near campus, and just about anything a college student could need. Basic living supplies like food and toiletries. Clothes; mainly Penn State apparel. Academic supplies like notebooks, paper, and pencils. A frequent for any college student living on campus or in the apartments nearby.
