We went to the canyon Inn restaurant at McCormick creek state park for a family dinner after a memorial. It was a great place for a large group with a reasonably priced buffet. The food was home cooking with a good selection. Lovely warm setting.

Beautiful state park with many opportunities for hiking and exploring. Wolf cave is a definite highlight, but be aware the exit is a little tight and maybe require crouching or crawling to get out. Walking the creek is also a lot of fun with a nice waterfall at the end.

Everywhere that we've visited in this park is always clean and well maintained. We've tried several of the walking and hiking trails, they've all been well taken care of, highly recommended.

Beautiful park, trails, & bridle trail. Clean shower houses. Some of the campsites are a bit snug, but still nice. The Inn has a great breakfast buffet!

Awesome forestry. The picnic area was clean and perfect for a family reunion. The bathrooms were clean and plenty of paper available. That’s important to have the area ready for park guests needs. We had a blast.

We stayed in the family cabins. Very nice and seem newly renovated. There is heat in them but no air. Great park for road biking.

We spent Labor Day weekend in the campground. The kids had a blast in the campground and playing on the playground. Even though it was full, this was easily the quietest holiday weekend in a state park campground we've had.

The park itself is great and offers a ton to do. We actually didn't do everything we had planned as we ran out of energy by Sunday afternoon. We took a walk to the fire tower with a naturalist. It was neat learning about the history with the Civilian Conservation Corps and how the tower was used. We also visited the nature center that had a lot of neat exhibits and did some basket weaving with one of the programs they had. My favorite part was visiting Wolf Cave and going through with my 6 year old daughter. We didn't even visit the falls, so we look forward to returning.

This park we fell in love with years ago when our children were little. My daughter loved the horse back riding and earned her junior naturalist patch here. We've enjoyed great trails, nice nature center with an aviary, helpful naturalists, and camping. Over the years we've also stayed in the Inn and have taken advantage of their hospitality and their good food. In the dining room the windows overlook the birds flocking at their feeders. We moved to the area a few years ago and now enjoy many of the seasonal activities of the park. It's got something for everyone! Come and enjoy the natural surroundings and let this place make memories.

5 days in one of the family cabins #10 specifically.

This was a great vacation for me! I was able to wonder the trails in the park, relax in a quiet cabin and just let go! Spending the second week in May was ideal. It was so quiet! Out of the 14 cabins in the area there was only one other cabin occupied at the same time during our stay. Even when there was another visitor across from us, the reclamation effort of letting plantings grow in an open area helped keep us from staring at each other. One night a thunderstorm with 60+ mph winds blew through. The power went out (not just the park, but in the surrounding area) so we lit candles, turned up the fireplace and fell asleep to the rain in our private little part of the forest. The facilities have been recently updated and the cabin was cleaner than some hotels I've stayed in. Can't wait to do this again!

My only complaint was this park showed the average stay about 2 hours.there's no possible way! There are so many things to do and see, 2 hours isn't close to enough. This park is an amazing family adventure. Allow plenty of time to enjoy!

Quaint old hotel located in quiet state park. Staff is friendly, accommodating. Don't expect 5-star service or dining. Nice place to stay.

State park inn is a very nice, historic building. Accommodations are exactly what you'd expect, very outdated yet nostalgic. Perhaps someday soon we'll start being proud of our state and federal parks and begin reinvesting in more modern amenities? The beauty of this park is worth the trip and the meager setting of the inn.
