I've called the MAC almost every day because the whole block has been missed for trash pick up for 3 out of the past 4 weeks. I've been told almost every time that my request had been submitted and they are working on it. Nothing has been done. I'm so sick of getting overlooked. I've been polite and reasonable. I will not be any longer.
Phone woman pleasant, but would do nothing until tomorrow "they have till 6:00PM to pick up" everyone else in street has had trash picked up but mine! This is not the first time my trash has not been picked up, a couple weeks ago and again missed it last week, now today and can is overflowing.
#HogsettsIndy is a liability. For 2x the local income tax of Carmel IN just a few miles away, we have roads so bad they caused my alloy rims to have to be replaced. Our streets aren't paved in the summer, swept in the fall or plowed well in the winter. I didn't think it was possible, but Hogsett is turning out to be worse than Peterson. Meanwhile Carmel has roads that are beautifully well kept where people's cars aren't damaged costing $1000 in repairs.
I reported someone had dumped some tree clippings behind my privacy fence back in July, since then, someone has dumped 6 car tires on top of the clippings. Now I'm being told no one knows when this will be cleaned up. So in the meantime, I'm being attacked by mosquitos every time I go to my backyard.
I called the phone number given. I told them what the problem was, and when told them I didn't know the address she mumble something and, put me on hold. I finally hung up. I gave good directions to the person too. Why did I expect anything different.
Contacted the action center via their website about an illegal destruction & dumping of lawn/brush debris outside my property. They addressed & had everything removed within 3 days. Very impressed & highly thankful for their assistance.
I called the police this morning about a yapping mutt next door, was told it was not there problem. Call the action hot line. Total waste of taxpayers' money, nothing but a way for the Mayor to grandstand.
Both the action hot line and the police and animal control are worthless.
-- I have spent over 30 minutes on the internet trying to find a way to Email the Indianapolis Mayor . there doesn't seem to be an easy way to send a message to that person.
I have a neighbor running a makeshift dog breeding kennel. These dogs bark nearly nonstop. If they are awake one of them is barking if not multiple dogs. I complained to the MAC over a year ago and was asked to keep a log and turn it in. I tracked the nuisance barking for two weeks and turned the log in as instructed. No change, no follow up to the barking. Again, about a month ago I filed a complaint only to have it dismissed because I had already complained once before.
If there was a legitimate response to the initial complaint then a second complaint would not be necessary. MAC is a joke. Just a public display to appear as if the administration is trying to do something. Facade.
Closed at 5:00 PM. I don't even know why I call when they're open. Thank god I moved out of Indy proper and into the north 'burbs. Having my trash picked up was always a struggle, every single neighborhood has a vacant, disheveled property that the city does nothing to address, the snow removal service is a friggin' joke, and the roads are terrible.
Now that I live in Carmel my roads are smooth, the sidewalks are great, the crime is lower, I don't have to count to three before entering the intersection when the light turns green, the schools are better, the snow gets plowed, my trash gets picked up and people take care of their homes. AND my property taxes are 68% cheaper to boot!
Joe Hogsett is OK (as was Mayor Ballard) but the city council sucks and the MAC is terrible, too.
Just talked with Rachael about a glitch in the website for my report on debris (mattress box spring) on the easement at 65th and Oakland. She couldn't have been more helpful and pleasant. She reported the issue for pick up and made a note to her supervisor about the frozen page on the website. Well done! Thank you.
I recently moved into a house, and over the course of 4 months my trash has been missed 3 times. You can use their new app, or call the Mayor's Action Line, to submit a request/ticket. Unfortunately, you'll be S.O.L.
I've been told that the "inspector" closed my claim because the trash service had indeed, gone down my street. I'd understand if a car was blocking my trash can, or something similar. However, you can be confident that you're being lied to and ignored if your entire street was missed. So every few weeks, My neighbors and I get to enjoy 2 weeks of trash being taken.
