First time here. Ordered salmon skin cut roll, crunch roll and seafood udon. Not bad, udon was quite tasty. Price is right, not too expensive. We came during off peek so the restaurant was not busy. Will return soon.

I had been going to this place for a few years now frequently and it used to be good value for okay food to feed a family sushi. They recently made some changes. My recent visit had new chefs, an empty place and rearranged furniture and they got rid of there 24 hour happy hour menu. Maybe ownership change? The food has continued to get worse with sloppy rolls the last few times there and higher prices have pushed me away for good. They charge as if they are a top sushi restaurant serving high quality food with no imitation products in some of the rolls. I hope they read this and come back to reality

When I was in San Diego, I had so many options for sushi but I'm so happy I chose Matsugawa! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and I thought the service was extremely quick! I ordered the Chef's Special Spicy Albacore (pictures are posted) and it was by far one of the best rolls I've ever had! The albacore was extremely fresh and the taste was out of this world. That coupled with the fresh rice and seasoning made this one of the greatest sushi experiences I had ever had. I can't wait to be back in Southern California and visit with my friends at Matsugawa again very soon!

The quality is Good and, excellent service. The staff has professional manners. The food is good. I' think its a reasonable price for food. I have no complaints about price to the actual taste. I and my friends will be coming back.
