New owners, used to be family felt, now codes on doors, pad locks on doors, timers on ac units, a sub par fish cleaning station and price hike of about 30% over the prior owners, the really only positive thing I can say was that after my 8yr old son walked into our room one morning before fishing and got the floor dirty. I stopped back later that morning to let them know, I was abruptly cut off and told their typical stayers take their stuff off. I then was told she was charging me to clean the carpet. 25.00 to be exact. Which she did, I've taken greater spots out of my own carpet in a couple min. It was good because after 20yrs of going there and 3 years of seeing it decline we made the move. The new place in Benzonia didn't disappoint. All 20 of us that were regulars have moved on. To bad really, funny what 25.00 will do for you. Best of luck to the New owners y'all gonna need it. Lastly cut your lawn, it has been knee high since early summer, looks tacky

I am very frustrated by the Mountain Valley Lodge's communication and customer service. On Thursday, August 17th, I made a last minute reservation for a one night stay on Friday, August 18th. Unfortunately, my daughter started feeling ill and running a fever on Friday morning, so I called to cancel our stay. The man that answered the phone said that there was a 72-hour cancellation policy, and my card might be charged, but sometimes the owners waived the fee if they were able to fill the room. I said I understood the policy, but if they were able to waive it, I would be grateful. I also asked him to have the owners call me and let me know. There was not a call back. I called the lodge again on Sunday, August 20th and left a message asking if they were able to waive the charge. I left my number again and asked for a call back. There was not one. My credit card has now been charged. Look, I understand people have to make a living and that customers probably lie about sick kids all the time, though this was not the case in this situation. I also understand that there is a 72-hour cancellation policy, though I find that frustrating, as I made and had to cancel the reservation within 48 hours. All I wanted was the courtesy of a call back. I did not get it.

This place was clean. You could do a cook out and have a camp fire. Probably should be 3.5 stars.

Old fashioned more with a separate rec room makes it easy for a large group of golfers, skiers etc. We've been coming here for years and the owners have been more than accommodating and nice

My husband & I stay here quite often. Great place to stay while in the the area. Very clean rooms! Full kitchen at your disposal along with some games to play. Awesome customer service!!!!!

Outstanding service!! The new mattress was very comfortable. We booked a last minute room here for a local wedding, and they were very affordable and it was perfect for what we needed! We woke up and had a flat tire, and they came out with an air compressor and got us up and running! I definitely recommend Mountain Valley to anyone looking to stay!

I been going up there for many years since I was a baby. My family has a place right off 115 down the highway from here. I always pass it and think I want to stay here sometime it looks cozy !! I love it up there and I'm from Detroit area. Good job keeping the place up. I'll have to book a stay sometime!
