Love everything about the Forest. Check out Big M ski trailhead for some cross country skiing, snowshoes or fat bikes. Great place for bird watching.

Absolutely beautiful forest and park area. It makes me feel lucky to live in a state that has so much natural beauty. Plenty of land that is just wooded with not much else at all.

I live here and it's absolutely beautiful. With each season we get amazing sites. Between the fall leaves, snow covered tops and green pastures. Along with the wild life that roams freely. There's no place else as peaceful as my home.

Beautiful trees! Not a long walk; we had two adults and a three year old. We found the perfect one in under an hour. Surprisingly inexpensive! Rudy was the best host you could ask for. 4 paws from us! We will be back next year!

Lots of trees. Like more trees than I've ever seen before, ever. Also features tons of wildlife that you are able to observe, and during some times if the year, you can kill and eat some of those animals. Pretty cool if you ask me.

Great place for family, hiking,mountain biking, camping, hunting, fishing the rivers and lakes, and my all time favorite mushroom hunting for all different types of mushrooms pending what seasons. This forest is a photography paradise, Michigan change in season adds to its beauty. Many small villages/towns in or surrounding the national forest, with some historical landscapes/landmarks. Oh if you're looking for good food, don't go to your normal restaurant try and find a local mom&pop shop.

Nice and quiet. Close to the Pine River.
Mostly wet pine on the ground so firewood is at a premium. Almost need a chainsaw and be prepared to drag wood a decent distance to have any hope of a fire.
One pump for water for the entire campground. Vault toilets are pretty clean.response / report this review -

I've got a dual sport bike and found lots of 2 tracks off of M37 to ride. Pretty easy riding with very little if any sand at least on this day. Its my first time I've been here. The ride through the tall pines was fantastic as the sun was shining through. And the smell and freshness of the air was great!

I went blueberry picking there it was so cool, I thought I was in the land of the big like out of some movie. A year ago I couldn't have done this I was in a wheelchair. I hiked back in the woods about a mile and the blueberry bushes were 10 - 20 feet tall everything was over grown and natural the way God intended. I picked my blueberries and hiked back to my truck. it was a great day.

Fourth year spending Independence Day here. The ban on fireworks means the pyromaniacs have to keep their distance. Pet friendly with huge grassy sites. There are paved level parking pads big enough for most any rig. You'll get a fire ring with a grill top and some sites have a proper grill.
There is a solar powered drinking water well that works sometimes.
No electricity so bring a genny or solar if you've got gadgets.response / report this review -

Absolutely beautiful! Lots of trails, designated hiking, orv, and horse riding trails. Rustic camping, rivers, ponds, and tons of wildlife!

Explore the beauty of Pure Michigan's natural wilderness. Enjoy everything around you! Lots of hiking trails, "two tracks" (seasonal roads not plowed by county commission), streams, rivers, bridges, lakes, and all other Michigan Lower Peninsula "wildlife imaginable.
