Wrong Decision - Birthday Party.
So we had a birthday party booked 3-4 weeks in advance but on the day of the birthday there was NO RECORD of the party. The guests started pouring in and the "So called Manager" was difficult to deal with. He kept going in the back and would not come out to help when there were tables not set and nothing was ready. He also kept talking as if he was doing a favor on us, where as we kept paying for whatever they wanted us to.
This looked like a dark and shady place on a Friday night.
Wrong Decision to host a party here !! AVOID AT ALL COSTS !!response / report this review -

They close at 9:00 even on the weekend. On top of that, three lady we bought the tickets from told us that as long as we started golf before 9:00, they would let us finish. They kicked us out before we got half way through. We had to plead with the guy to let us finish to the ninth hole real quick. Will definitely not be recommending or going back. The employees there spend more times screwing around and talking to other employees than did assisting or doing there job. Very disappointing!
PS. The Groupon that we drove up there for claimed that they closed at 10. I'm glad I waited before buying itresponse / report this review -

I came up from Sylvania for my cousins little girls birthday party & we spent the day at Malibu. We had a blast. Prices were great & food was delicious. The staff had great attitudes.

Okay but. I feel like it takes entirely too long in the ride line. The food tastes ok; a little pricey, but it is expected of a place like this. I like the variety of games, but I feel they should have one set reasonable price. The place is too small for the weekend crowd.

If you are considering the birthday party package, go somewhere else. They give you a room and drop off pizza/drinksthat's about it. The attendant lied to us and said they don't help pour drinks or serve pizza/cake when we have more than 8 kids, we paid $15 extra per kid and had 13. We did it all. The attendant was not helpful at all, just wanted to rush us out the room. When I spoke to the manager she said that's not correct and she would speak to the attendant. On top of everything the attendant kept coming back to us saying you only have 10 minutes, then 5 minutes to get out of the room. The manager told us we can stay longer since she didn't help us. Instead of discounting our party price, they gave us a card for 2 hours free for the birthday boy which was only for the video games. To top it off all of the kids at our party couldn't ride anything because the lines were ridiculously long (an hour plus) so they're going to have to come back and do the activities. They should schedule it where they have a specific time for parties that paid for the activities in advance to be able to ride them. My son (birthday boy) got there at 4:30pm for the party and we didn't leave until 8pm and just played putt-putt..stood in the line for bumper boats and gave up when the line wasn't moving and it was already 8pm. Take your business elsewherenot worth the money.

So-so. Place is very over crowded. Bought the day pass, but only used once each carting, golf and bumper boats. Carting area is horrible with Gas smell from idling that caused me a severe headache. Golfing is ok. Bumper boats are served only 1 staff who has to anchor the boats, prepare for loading and unhook them. The same person charges the boats. It is very overcrowded and slow, took us 1.5 hours in the line before our turn, although the queue is very short. Will never go again.

Very disappointing trip. Took a student group of 22. We had bought the champ pass for unlimited rides. In an almost 2 hour period, managed to get on the go carts ONCE. It wasn't especially crowded, but they were only running 10 regular carts (Plus usually about 4 doubles). There was a whole line of 10 carts not in use. Employees were courteous, but SO SLOW. The session is five minutes, but only ran once about every 15 because of how long it took to load/unload. Freakin waste of money and time. Should have taken our group elsewhere.

its a great experience. Wonderful place for a day trip. Kids will have lots of fun. Better be early to enjoy most of the activities. The place is very safe for children. I had been here with my parents, wife and 9 year old son. All of them had a Gala time:-)

An inexpensive alternative to other Family Entertainment Centers and an atmosphere geared greatly towards kids rather thanks adults. Rules are very clearly stated almost everywhere you look so it's hard to get confused about policies and whatnot. The staff is mainly high-school and college aged with the only adults being upper management. Highly recommended to check weather before your visit because attractions will close if conditions require. Most every question you could ever have can be easily answered by spending some time on the website. Last ditch effort would be to call the park, though it has gotten better getting someone to answer, it is still not gaurenteed because they do not have anyone employed specifically to answer phones and if the park is busy; getting an answer is next to impossible.

Discrimination against Muslims. Can't wear a headscarf for gokarting? Dumbest thing ever, there's hazards in everything, including driving what people do all the time. It is clear discrimination to ban anyone from covering their head if it is for a religious purpose. Just because they don't understand it, it is a clear infringement on first amendment right of freedom of religion. No respect for people that are different.

I was lucky enough to get some free tickets to the grand opening of the Buccaneer Cove. The staff was friendly and very helpful. My son had a blast! They had big water slides for the older kids that he actually went down once and he is a very short 5-year-old.
He thoroughly enjoyed the kiddie water slides and we had to pry him away from it to go home.
To get to the rBuccaneer Cove which was in the back of the Malibu Express you will pass the kids in a small pool area. The bumper boats were the perfect size to be safe, they had kids racing on go-karts, others playing on the putt-putt golf mini course, softball and baseball batting cages, the inside was a very interesting interactive arcade, there was a big food court for eating where we got a kids meal for $5.99 and had a good variety of food choices for the children to enjoy. The inside bathroom we used was clean and they had a good amount of stalls to accommodate the children.
There was plenty staff everywhere in the Buccaneer Cove area to help control the children. There were many lounge chairs for parents to sit by and watch the children squeal with delight as well as cabanas that could be rented. There also was a pad area for smaller kids to enjoy where the water was sprouting up from the ground and a convenient bathroom right by it.
This Buccaneer Cove was well worth the $9.99 they were charging. This time was free but next time it would definitely be worth the price for my son to enjoy.response / report this review
