  My experience with Maher / Allied and their workers was nothing but positive. A polite and timely crew systematically performed the duties that I requested at what I would consider to be a perfect rate. Honest, hard-working individuals at this place. 5 stars

  This company has a great up-front sales person who will make you feel wonderfully reassured that you will have a great experience. Do NOT believe him! The estimate was 10,00 pounds for a 3 BR house with 6 people, which I questioned at the time as being pretty low. I even got rid of a lot of stuff before moving and it still was over 15,000 pounds. So much for their "professional" estimator who had "a lot" of experience and was "usually" really close. Wish I could be that far off toward wrong in my job! These movers did not protect our old or new home, as described. They broke our computer desk in front of our eyes due to improper moving technique and made light of it, without so much as an apology! They stacked items specifically labeled "heavy" on top of those labeled "fragile". They actually threw our items down the basement stariwell vs. carrying them down. They also created a make-shift cardboard "slide" to go over the stairs and were pushing the boxes down and they were hitting the sides of the stairwell along the way. Boxes were clearly labeled where they were supposed to go and were put in incorrect locations. They stacked boxes seven high and they fell over in the basement because larger boxes were placed on top of smaller boxes. Our couches were left upside down. They flipped specialty wardrobe boxes upside down and thought this was funny to wrinkle and ruin my business wardrobe. The movers knew we were not very happy with their antics and asked us to not report them because it would affect their compensation. I wrote a three page letter to the company detailing all the unacceptable service issues we had. I even have pictures of how the movers left things and the physical damage they caused. It has taken months to get anywhere. I have had to make several follow-up phone calls because I don't get called back for weeks. The company "repaired" a few things and called it good. They thought things were "settled" but hadn't even cashed out the items they agreed to. I asked for a percent discount and they won't even consider adjusting. Do NOT hire this company. I would STRONGLY RECOMMEND spending your moving dollars elsewhere and try for a better experience than we had.
