The food is so good here. There are so many options. The lunch specials and happy hour specials are worth looking into. The sandwiches at any time are tasty and fulfilling. However, one thing to be mindful of. Sometimes, the service can take longer than expected. Other times, it was so speedy. Be ready for either and it may not be a place to go get a quick bite but it's worth the wait if you have the time.
It's more a bar than an actual restaurant. Sandwiches are good and they don't skimp on the makings. Do not go expecting a quiet meal, it gets pretty noisy most nights, during the school year especially.
Seemed very short staffed after long wait to be seated. Sandwich was great. Young and inexperienced servers were pleasant and very accomodating.
Nice place and service was good. Extensive menu of a lot of different things from burgers to salads to wings to sandwiches. Food was good.
Amazing place! Sandwiches are really good. You get alot of food for what you pay. Madison mud pie was delicious! The food was also served very quickly. We went on a Sunday so it wasn't very packed.
Great place. Good food - the Reuben was delicious- good service tonight. In a beautiful old building on Main Street. Great atmosphere.
Ruben sandwich great.
My wife's salad with cashews she enjoyed even without dressing.
Service terrible, but we arrived late and they were understaffed had to beg for table service. Music VERY loud. Still I'll give 4* the Ruben and my very cold draft beer
Tons of options at this American/TexMex place, and I enjoyed everything. Summer staff was all young kids but they seemed nice, but order your specialty drinks from the bartender so you know it's perfect. Plenty of TVs to watch a match, and second-level outdoor balcony seating was cool.
A wonderful meal and service. The restaurant was a 10 minute walk from our hotel and was one of the suggestions from the desk clerk. The fare is primarily sandwiches (an extensive offering) but there are several entree and meal salad options as well. I had the "Titanic"; a French dip steak sandwich with Au Jus. The meat was sliced thin and tender. I opted to pay an up charge for onion rings rather than accept the standard chips / fruit / potato salad sides.
The decor is eclectic, with local history references to both Washington and Lee University and the Virginia Military Institute. Typical of a "bar and grill", there were televisions in sight from the table but they did not detract from the atmosphere.
I gave four stars due to my convention of avoiding five star ratings for all but the most impressive experiences.
I'm in the middle of moving from Texas to Brooklyn, and circumstances decided I had to stay in Lexington for the night.
What a piece of good fortune to have.
I would take a vacation to Lexington just to eat at Macado's. I'm very serious about food, and this place knocks it out of the park. Please eat here.
Service is great, beautiful building, price is right, and again, the food is unbelievable. Huge menu, (I'm pretty sure) from-scratch preparation, and tastes amazing. Hope I pass through here again one day!
Great place in town. Good food and nice atmosphere, inside or outside.
The food was delish prices where great! I will be back for sure.
Food, service and atmosphere were wonderful.
I love macado's but the service or trying to get a table is awful. Tonight (tuesday 6:30) was not busy we requested a booth and they said it would be a few minutes. I looked at the thing they mark and they had some tables ready so I said we'd take a table the person said it still would be a few minutes. The person I was with went upstairs there were 4 tables available, she asked the hostess she stated there were only 2 servers they needed to catch up. This is the 2nd time this has happened. I love the food but won't be back.
Friendly service. Decent sized menu. Great place to have a beer and watch the game.
