I've generally had positive experiences at Lucky's Brew Pub, which serves well-prepared bar food. I'm a fan of the Dayne sandwich, with its citrus-braised pulled pork piled high with on a pretzel roll.

I also appreciate how the owner kept the feel of former auto garage when extensively remodeling the space, with the concrete floors, cider block walls, exposed steel ceiling beams and the garage doors that open during the warmer months. There are plenty of flat screens to keep up on the sports action.

Good atmosphere. Good weekly deals. The lights are off point though. Dim them down in the seated areas.

Go here if you want your jackets stolen. Both my jacket and a friend's jacket were taken. No blame on the establishment but gives you an idea of who might be in the crowd there. I also got the impression the owner cared about getting your money and nothing else. Plenty of other places to visit without the hassle of shady people and expensive beers.

Good food. Expansive, durable & interesting facility with unique open air capabilities. Its proximity to Camp Randall Stadium make it a perfect game day destination. That & it's near campus location make it a hot spot, all be it a little beer soaked.

Great place to go if you want to practice flagging down a bartender.

Needs better tv layout to watch games. Not placed in areas for large crowds. Cluster of smaller TV's don't work. Get projectors on the big walls. A strip of large TV's between the bar and kitchen is only good for a few people. Good bones, but needs improvement especially on game day.

Beers came quick, and were ice cold. It was a little crowded, but we didn't have to wait at all to get seated, and service was prompt.

Food was pretty good, but we had to wait 20 minutes before being served while they were not too busy.

Going down the street, you might miss this place, but the food is sublime. Everyone that I went with got something different and none of us were disappointed.
Word of warning though, if you get the nachos as an appetizer, they will feed the entire table, so don't expect to be able to eat it all yourself.

Great location close to the stadium in downtown madison with a very large space. It used to be a car workshop, so they still have huge garage doors that can be opened when the weather is nice. It can get crowded during game days. I recommend the superfood salad. The food is great and they are starting to brew their own beer.

It's a shame to have such a GREAT space (seriously so many huge TVs) be run so poorly. We came around 4 PM and the bar was about 20% full, and yet it still took >5 minutes for a bartender to take our drink order and get us drinks.

The pretzel looked great, but we didn't want to wait forever for our food.

Most frustrating was a crowd of obnoxiously wasted patrons who clearly should have been cut off about an hour beforehand, and who the bartenders did absolutely nothing about (and, in fact, continued to serve). And, no, these were not college students on game day - these were guys in their late 30s/early 40s, and one of them was borderline assaulting a woman who clearly didn't appreciate the attention. We couldn't even hear the game (or each other) over their obnoxious yelling. Look, we're a college town and this is a college sports bar, but sloppy drunk folks who can't hold their booze and are clearly disturbing numerous other patrons need to be removed.

Hopefully Lucky's can turn it around because this really is a great space. We left and walked across the street to Jordan's Big 10 pub where we had a great evening, and, for now, I would suggest you do the same.
